Why don't you simply bookmark Bitcointalk webpage or any other website link you use?  Roll Eyes

You can't be possibly typing search terms for every single website you use, as that is super easy way to get phishing attack and get hacked

OP was using Tor through the Brave browser so I assume that OP only uses Tor for select websites(like Bitcointalk). Understandably so, there is no bookmark option through Tor via Brave browser. At least as of now.

There are many phising site similiar with Bitcointalk. The real site of bitcointalk is bitcointalk.org. Always be careful to visit website and check the url of website. And don't forget to Bookmark the site to reduce phising scam.

Preying on typos (or typosquatting) is pretty common. I remembered over a decade ago there was this YouTube video that showed a goggle.com instead of google.com caused a slew of virus infections, although I'm unsure how they sprung out right away.

Bitcointal.org and bitcintalk.org redirects to

https://www.binance.com/en/register?ref=CPL71V3F

I hope it's someone with good intentions who owns those domains.  It could be someone trying to configure a phishing site and just parked his redirect ref-link there until the fake site is up and running.

Best to use a bookmark, especially if you use private windows and TOR, or your browser isn't set to remember your history.  It's way too easy to finger fumble a URL and end up getting phished.

Well, at least person behind it didn't had malicious intentions and didn't redirected you to phishing website. He just wanted to get some referrals on Binance.
But in general, it's worrying thing to see so many phishing Bitcointalk websites. If you're worried that you can misstype Bitcointalk address, add it to your bookmarks. It's also good to add these phishing websites to your hosts file to block it.

Well there you go. You accidentally missed a single character. Tongue You gotta watch out for those, especially when going to exchanges and finance-related websites. You definitely wouldn't want to be phished on sites like those. Luckily this one isn't malicious.

I probably think i mis-typed the url.  Cheesy

i'm trying different wordings of bitcointalk.org to see which typo led me there.

For example : bitcontalk.org redirect to
Code:
https://bravebrowserreview.com/
which most probably has a malicious download file.

Greetings,
i entered bitcointalk.org on the Brave private window with tor and it redirected to binance with a ref link. It happened again after i refreshed the site(didn't change the tor connection).
This problem didn't re-occur after i tried again with the new tor connection in brave browser nor in the TOR browser.

Sounds like either malware or simply a typo when you inserted the BTT adress. Try googling bitcointalk and enter the first result. If the problem persists it's probably malware. If that's the case I d recommend a good format and changing all your wallets and passwords in the exchanges you use! If it was just a typo (you can check from history) all is well Cheesy

Based on your explanation, I could almost 100% guarantee that you just mistyped the Bitcointalk URL. People taking advantage of mistyped URLs is pretty common, even with Binance. They would buy URLs like Binancd.com and instead of making phishing sites and steal people's money, they would simply redirect the URL to a legitimate Binance referral link. Just so they can still make money off people's typos, without being unethical/immoral.

Possibly you got any kind of malware in your brave browser. May be you want to reinstall the browser again.
