Your example is even more terrible...  they are not here to make a flash sale for hundreds of dollars only to never pay back double...  come on, BitFeud is one of GBBG projects (not mine or any single owner) and GBBG name is impeccable. (check it up, try to find something negative on them)

Besides getting an honest chance to win that half priced cash, premium members get many perks for $5 monthly.  For their participation in this program, they earn GBBG ponts and if they have any video promoting their product or service, they can rotate that video on BitFeud site for other members to watch it and earn more points.  Where else you can post a video to be watched for at least 3 minutes for $5 monthly?  Bitfeud currently has 698 members and that number will grow steadily.  All of these members are bitcoin literate.

It still makes NO SENSE why you should pay for cash. I get that you are "selling" cash and not giving it as a prize, but what does that accomplish? The only benefit I can think of is that you will keep running the "flash cash" sales until you do one for hundreds of dollars only to never pay back double.

The television is also a horrible example. You can't cut a TV into fifths, but you can cut MONEY into fifths. there's no good reason why you shouldn't.

How does this site even make money? by having members pay for a subscription only to never get anything back in prizes? If a member of your site wants to pay half price for money, he'd have better chances just going to a bitcoin casino than jumping through hoops on your site. If you want to run a lottery, don't do it by making it so needlessly complex.

There is no such thing as free money (or discounted money), no matter how you slice it.

As you hopefully know, bitcoin blockchain is 100% transparent. Therefore, evey member can copy/paste the bitcoin address of any of these pools into ANY blockchain explorer and verify the balance themselves.

Why can’t bitfeud just give you half the cash amount (“prize”) instead of making you pay half and then sending you double?

Yep, it surely seems more sensible to give 1/2 price...  All of us are asking the same question, BUT at the same time, all of us trust that they must have some good reasons for making us pay first and that very soon, with the first flash sales, we learn these reasons too.  As soon as I understand the logic behind such transactions, I will share it here, now I am simply not sure, the site just opened and we haven't had yet any flash sales.

Everything inside GBBG and BitBillions is very well documented with 100% transparency, but since the organization is still in development stage, some people consider their ventures risky...

I believe that many, many sites from Service announcements https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 are much more risky than GBBG and would size to exist in few months from now, and that GBBG and all their projects will stay and flourish and prove that they did not deserved to be placed into gambling category.
