This has been said over and over again and even some other exchanges get accused as well by people but that does not mean it is true, most of the time these people accusing the exchanges either did something to violate the exchange rules or they invested in  a bad trade and lost a big percentage of their money so they are just looking for anywhere to put the blame.

One of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Bitfinex has been accused of being involved in money laundering scheme. The exchange conducted an internal investigation and concluded the allegations to be “untrue and unfounded”.
Man, this is not the first time I’m seeing people say that Bitfinex is a scam, I have seen and heard it many times. Not only Bitfinex, people do complain about other exchangers too. What I have come to understand about all these people that are complaining is that everyone has their reasons why such happened, but some of them wouldn’t tell you exactly what happened.

It can be that they failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the platform. Some others are right about losing their  money, and that is as a result of poor support team or tech team. And when it comes to this type of issue, we have Bitfinex to blame for it.

I think every large business in the world gets involved in some sort of money laundering or tax evasion. Who the hell wants to pay the correct taxes? Fuck that!

Nothing to see here.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
But at least it was proved wrong and thats the most important part.
It wasn't proven wrong.  Bitfinex have claimed that it was wrong.

Bitfinex have repeatedly evaded financial audits (and so has Tether).  They have also been hacked in the past and only partially reimbursed their customers through an unorthodox token system.

Bitfinex are not a particularly trustworthy company, and although the news is unconfirmed and may well be unfounded, Bitfinex's word certainly shouldn't be taken as fact.

their official statement.

“Based on all available evidence and information, [it] has concluded that these allegations are untrue and unfounded.”

The exchange further declared that:

“Among the claims under dispute, Bitfinex has not been party to any official investigation launched in any jurisdiction globally on the basis of the allegations reported in the Polish media. This signals that the relevant authorities have found no reason to act upon the claims made against the Bitfinex platform.”

Bitfinex among all large cryptocurrency exchange, it has the largest volume of bitcoin being traded. I remember last year it was trading 150k bitcoin for a week. Given the volume of bitcoin at bitfinex and the value of bitcoin decreasing we cannot take the doubts of people and we cannot blame them if they will accuse Bitfinex of baing a fraud. But at least it was proved wrong and thats the most important part.
