I can confirm this. Bitfinex along with some other exchanges are in to the scheme where they manipulate the price. Having a large volume gives them millions of profit conducing this scheme.
It's sad a large exchange is even doing this.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...

there has been some shady stuff going on with Bitfinex lately that worries me.

it is so much better to stay away from this exchange site and use another one even if it is for a short time until they resolve their issues and their situation becomes clear.

Yup, they're also there has been no action so good to solve this problem. I am worried if they don't fix this problem soon, it will be more and more people began to hate and bad give Feedback to the site. I hope this can be fixed soon and there is good faith of Bitfinex to provide clarification on this issue

Third time down for a website to be down (even for maintenance ) is not good. they should have a backup plan and keep their site up 24/7. Otherwise people will feel that they might do a scam soon by disappearing forever.

did they even say anything about these downtimes, like on their twitter or something like that?

because i don't personally use them and only see the posts here and on reddit complaining about it, they may have said something on their twitter better check it out.
