I came across a Twitter thread about Bitcoin's volatility. It's worth reading through it and the responses. Most bitcoiners are still disillusioned about volatility. They think Bitcoin's price will stabilize at "some" point in the future. But it's likely that Bitcoin's volatility is inherent. The fix for it is inflation. That's why we need Bitflate.

"The price of bitcoin is inherently volatile." @jp_koning

Hi miners,

We released the Bitflate Whitepaper. In this paper, we describe:

- Why the market needs an inflationary cryptocurrency.
- Design of Bitflate.
- Design of an Elastic Monetary System.
- How this system can achieve Digital Cash.

Hi everyone,

We have a new release for the Bitflate Core client, v0.20.2. This is a required upgrade. In this version, we changed the pchMessageStart parameter. This change prevents Bitflate clients from connecting to Bitcoin clients. But it also prevents connection to older Bitflate clients. Please upgrade your client to get new blocks. Instructions for upgrade.

Eth has no limit on supply.
Grin has no limit on supply.

Nothing you have offered is not already covered.

You have almost no real info on the website.  Everything you have to say about this is covered in the first post you made.  The chart of emission makes it clear.  The deafening silence (no market / no miners) with it being around since 2019.  The complete lack of development on its github.  Its dead ...quit beating it.

ETH, Grin, Doge have constant tail emissions. The constant emission will be smaller and smaller relative to the circulating supply. It's the same as Bitcoin.

Here is Bitflates metrics:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitflate

2 years in and thats all its done....nothing.  Same as the github shows.

Call it what ever you want.  It is garbage.  Nothing new except you changed emission rate ....as stated on the website.  So no real code no real innovation,  We changed emissions....when there are literally thousands of real coins already out there....Some with real experiments and not just sad little me too copy boys behind it.  You list an exchange but there is no volume and no market for this coin.  Even if you mine it...it has no value.  Thats where your whole idea falls apart.  If people dont value it....it has no value.

You are same as several trying to ride the bull market to your wet dream.  But nobody values what you are doing because honestly its not even your work.  Its bitcoins bitcore.  And the value goes to there not to you.

The idea of Bitflate is to find a way to introduce inflation into crypto. Existing coins have limited supplies. The economic incentives are the same. You hold a bag of coins. The community pumps and dumps. Technology-focused coins, like Ethereum, claim to have better technology than Bitcoin. But it has the same economic incentives. I think this is why the whole market behaves the same way. Everyone pumps and dumps.

Many coins have tried to sell "new tech" value proposition. I don't think they have added much. I think inflation can unlock the Medium of Exchange use-case. Bitflate has a moderately high inflation rate, 7% per year. That makes it distinctive from the rest of the market. Bitcoin is a good model for making cryptocurrency. Bitflate is not about a new crypto technology. It's an experiment with economic incentives.

Bitflate is a shitcoin. Its supply will inflate to make a lot of coins. Many coins have failed to compete with the digital gold narrative of Bitcoin. Bitflate has a different narrative. It's the ultimate shitcoin. There'll be a lot of coins. We can make something useful out of it. Maybe, it'll be the digital fertilizer.

So you have a coin using sha-256 same algo as btc....

So what keeps a big btc farm from pointing its hash power at this coin and 51% attacking it?  Correction what keeps anyone with a single S9 from owning the network (worthless as it is).

I mean i know this coin is in no danger becuase to be honest the market cap is pitiful literally has no ranking (so not in top 5000 couns) and no clear market price.  The exchange listed is not exactly anything...the exhanges total volume of all coins traded in 24hrs is less than $5000 TOTAL.

Total value of bitflate coin 24hrs.... $32...total...worldwide.  And it appears that data is probably inflated.

Total miners on the NL pool ZERO
Total miners on the cminers pool ..... 2

So total 2 miners.  And they havent found a block since 12/25.

Bitflate is an experimental coin. I don't think anyone bothers to attack it. They will only help the community pushing blocks. Changing the mining algorithm won't prevent attacks.

Why should Bitflate exist? Because we need to find a way to address the Medium of Exchange use-case. Check out the website for more information:

Here we go again, so all what this bitflate can do is inflation and POW? I'm guessing this is another hit and run crypto project, this project add no solution to crypto projects but add more problem to crypto space because such project have no real use case, miners I hope you guys are smart, I spent over a year mining coins like this and they died before I was even able to sell them.

How does Bitcoin address the Medium of Exchange use-case? I think the answer is it can't. A money system consists of a Store of Value and a Medium of Exchange. An example is the Gold Standard. It consists of gold (deflationary) and paper money (inflationary). We need an inflationary crypto to make a crypto money system. That is the purpose of Bitflate.

Check out Bitflate website for more information:

I posted a guide to simple mining setup for Bitflate, a cryptocurrency with inflation.

https://bitflate.github.io/post/2019/07/21/bitflate-solo-mining-with-gekkoscience-newpac-usb.html

If you need a pool for mining, you can use mining-dutch pool. See mining pool instruction here:

https://www.mining-dutch.nl/

Come mine this coin. The coin supply starts to inflate after 4 years. But it rewards early adopters with more coins.

First 10 halvings' rewards:

0: 50
1: 25
2: 12.5
3: 6.25 (end of halving)
4: 6.65 (start of inflation 7%)
5: 7.02
6: 7.51
7: 8.04
8: 8.60
9: 9.20
10: 9.85

Block explorer: https://explorer.bitflate.org

Do you have miner recommendation for best result? or is this pool recommended a best miner for gpu in their website? Anyway thanks for your info, I would like to try to mine this coin and see if it is profitable or will become profitable soon.

I use SHA256 and SHA256 asicboost rigs on miningrigrentals.com. I mine with both cminors and mining-dutch pools. I try to support both pools because they support Bitflate. I like cminors UI. It's faster. But mining-dutch is a bigger pool with longer history. I did hit some problems with payouts before. So check your payouts.

Bitflate's thesis is that we need to have inflation for transactions. Bitcoin is deflationary. Bitflate is inflationary. I think Bitflate's success depends on when people will accept this thesis. As far as I see, most people in crypto reject inflation. They think it's evil and Bitcoin is the final form of money. It can take a while for people to rethink their views of inflation. In the meantime, early Bitflate adopters can mine bigger block rewards. Smiley

Thanks for your answer, my last question is, how do we get this coin? Is this fork can get via ICO? or we can able mine this like other btc fork out there? I'm also a follower of one fork of btc, the Bitcoin 2 and I have running a masternode for it. Is this coin is POS/MN? lots of question.  Wink  Cheesy

Thanks for the interest. Bitflate is a proof-of-work coin. You can mine it using mining-dutch.nl or cminors pools.

https://www.mining-dutch.nl/
https://bitflate.cminors-pool.com/

I mine the coins by renting rigs on https://www.miningrigrentals.com/.

You can also buy BFL coins on Unnamed Exchange.

https://www.unnamed.exchange/Exchange?market=BFL_BTC

As always, proceed with caution and do your own research.

Mining update.

We passed 90k blocks!

This crypto and equity crash shows the need for a crypto for transactions. Existing blockchains with capped supply are very volatile. DAI stablecoin is failing under volatility. I believe that our best shot of making a digital native stablecoin is Bitflate.

Everything is crashing, Bitflate is marching forward. Smiley

There's an opinion article on Bloomberg. It makes the case for adding inflation to cryptocurrency. Check out the Bitflate experiment. I think people will realize the usefulness of Bitflate.

I think that you are doing a good job but you need more widespread for your coins and let me tell you a very easy way to reach more people, start a signature campaign and pay participants by Bitcoin (equal in Bitflate) so if you pay Full Members 0.002 btc weekly you will pay them the equivalent in bitflate. The reason I say to pay in Bitcoin equivalent is to get more people to join your signature.

This is a good project but alone you can’t go very far no matter how good you are.

Thanks for the suggestion. Running a decentralized blockchain makes me realize how little we can control the world. I made the software, started the chain. But I only have a minor amount of the coin supply. Miners and others are holding most of the coin supply. It's difficult to align incentives. So far, I have been able to ask for donation for exchange listing fees. Currently, I see some miners want to sell their coins at good price (> 10 sats per BFL coin). There may be a way to get them to pay you BFL coins in exchange for signature.

Thanks. I sure need a lot of luck. Smiley

Yes, Bitflate is an experimental coin. I pitch Bitflate as Bitcoin with constant inflation. I think it is a good candidate for a digital native stablecoin. It has a 7% supply inflation after 4 years of halving. By design, Bitflate coin bag will devalue over time. Bitflate is not digital gold. It's not for HODL. Everyone will dump Bitflate at some point. Bitflate is, by common definition, a shitcoin. It is probably the ultimate shitcoin. It is the opposite of Bitcoin. But maybe, this is why it has a chance of succeeding.

Although the chain inflates at 7%, we should be able to compensate depreciation with interest. Bitflate could become a coin for transactions. It's year 2019. I'm trying to fork Bitcoin. Forking has been done so many times and pretty much all failed. I'm aware of this. Running Bitflate has been a humbling experience. But I think cryptocurrency market needs a coin like this. With Bitflate, there's no limited supply, no Austrian Economics, no programmable blockchain, no world computer. Inflation encourages people to spend their coins.

No trick, no gimmick, just plain old Proof of Work cryptocurrency.

You can buy BFL on Unnamed Exchange. Use with caution. https://www.unnamed.exchange/Exchange?market=BFL_BTC

It came to our attention that previous software builds didn't enable SegWit properly. I fixed the issue and rebuilt v0.18.1. You can download it here:

We're now at block 29510. SegWit is enabled since block 28224.

One day: we're at block 22693 and 1.1 million coins now. Looks like some professional miners are acquiring Bitflate coins. They slowly push up hashrate and mine lots of coins. We're at 548 GH/s and 1461 difficulty. I hope the chain is not under attack. I don't see anything irregular. If someone notices anything, please let me know.

So far, there're 2 people mining Bitflate. I have 61.38% of the supply. The other person whom I don't know has 38.62%. We're at 639k coins. In our first year, we're supposed to reach 10 million coins. So we're still very far off. I do not want to own more coins. I will keep my miner down once there are more people mining. The coin uses the same Proof of Work consensus as bitcoin. I expect coin ownership to spread out when more miners come.

The chain inflates its supply after 4 years. So eventually, my bag will devalue. My long term goal is to create software services around the chain.

Now chain is at block 127xx, so you have 50% of the coins, and probably more if you have continued mining ...

I posted a guide to simple mining setup for Bitflate, a cryptocurrency with inflation.

https://bitflate.github.io/post/2019/07/21/bitflate-solo-mining-with-gekkoscience-newpac-usb.html

If you need a pool for mining, you can use mining-dutch or cminors pools. See mining pool instructions below:

https://www.mining-dutch.nl/
https://bitflate.cminors-pool.com/

Come mine this coin. The coin supply starts to inflate after 4 years. But it rewards early adopters with more coins.

First 10 halvings' rewards:

0: 50
1: 25
2: 12.5
3: 6.25 (end of halving)
4: 6.65 (start of inflation 7%)
5: 7.02
6: 7.51

10: 9.85
