This post was not written at midnight.

You need to set your preferred timezone in your profile.  I see "Quote from: Shagnasty on Today at 05:53:36 PM" because I have my timezone set to Pacific time.

Some information would be nice shtylman!  Especially given your recent email about potential compromise of the API.

Even if it is a quick one liner some communication would be reassuring for those of us with funds on your exchange.

I didn't get an e-mail but I hadn't been using the API so, I presume, then had no API keys assigned for my account.

Having a separate status page for these notifications would be nice, and that need was acknowledged just a few days ago in a different thread:

Going forward I will be looking at using multiple data center locations and/or a separate status page to indicate the current situation and not keep you (our users) in the dark about what is going on. Our goal is to be as fault tolerant with our systems as possible and I will be evaluating how to make that happen as we continue to grow.

Got an e-mail last night from bitfloor support that my API keys may have been compromised.  So seems there may have been some sort of hack.  A bit concerning, but good to see that he was proactive about revoking the keys just in case.

Quote
After reviewing some of our system logs and server access I believe there may have been some recent unauthorized activity which may have compromised the security of your api key. As a result I am revoking all of the API keys for your security. After your key is revoked you will be able to login and create a new key using the web interface.

No accounts were compromised financially nor was there any access to coins or any funds. Our system are separated to protect against this. I am revoking the keys as a precaution for your account security and trading security.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes in your trading, but after review I felt it appropriate to take this action as a safeguard. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by replying to this email.

cheers,
~Roman

Bitfloor has been down for several hours now. Both the web site and the API gateway are returning "Bitfloor Website: Is currently offline. It will be back shortly."

@shtylman: Could we have an update on restoration progress? Do you have a Bitfloor status blog on another site somewhere?

EDIT: Site is back up at ~08:00 UTC.

apologies for the service disruption. Our hosting provider expperienced a power outage in their data center. As a result some services had to be manually restarted and are coming back online now

I can reassure everyone that this was not a security breach or other attack but just a server issue. All funds are secure and things should be operating normally soon.

Bummer. Are any of the principals of bitfloor able to give us an ETA for uptime?

It seems as if Shtylman is working on bringing the site back up now:

I sent one about 20 minutes ago. Still waiting. No phone response, but they do say on their website that phone isn't the best.
