Yes, indeed the IP assigned by the router for the B8 is 192.168.0.8

But even so, it does not enter through any browser.

With the PuTTY program it allows me to enter but I don't know the commands that I should use to configure with that method Sad

I was able to connect by ssh, but I cannot access

Thank you again for the follow up and trying to help.  I am running mine on a single 220v 40A so that should be plenty on my end.  I am really leaning towards it not being a defective back plane at this point as I have been testing on multiple machines.  I emailed Bitfury support a few times over the last couple weeks and never received a response.  This is getting a little frustrating lol.

Was utilizing the jumper to update the firmware a solid requirement for getting your miners up and running?  I tried the exact process you described, but did not have any luck:
1.)  Flash a SD card with Openminer v1.2 image
2.)  With the jumper added to the MB, connect to the miner and run a firmware update (I am using a makeshift jumper - penny and electrical tape)
3.)  Once the firmware is updated, restart the miner and remove the jumper for normal operations.

I tried this scenario with both v1.2 as well as 1.3.3.  I also tried Slushpool, Antpool, BTC.com, and Kano pool.  If the the jumper/firmware update process the main determining factor which allowed you to finally start hashing, I can order a handful of jumpers just to make sure of the outcome of that process.

I emailed Bitfury Support for a 4th time today so hopefully that might wake them up (not holding my breath).  I am willing to pay someone for support at this point because I am losing money everyday by not having these machines up and running.  Please keep me updated if you have any additional ideas.

Everything works on 1.3.3!
Like I did. I flashed the SD card with this firmware, inserted everything back, installed the jumper on the board (this is important), and turned on the ASIC. Then, in the ASIC menu, I clicked the Upgrade Firmware button, waited a few minutes. After, I went into the pool settings, the fields were empty. I drove the data of the pool on which I dig, and after a reboot, he also gave me 0 hashing boards! In the address field, where the address of the stratum is registered, you need to write the IP address of the pool. The pool address can be found using the ping command. And that’s all. After a reboot, he showed all 6 boards, and went a hashrate. The only problem on this firmware is it does not regulate the cooler speed. At 1.2 rpm regulated normally.
P / S. Yes, the jumper is always installed, and it always has been, I didn’t even remove it. Everything worked fine and is still working.
And yes, sorry for my language, I am writing through a translator, since I am Russian-speaking ... Smiley

Hello, I have the same problem.The miner turns on and on the pool shows active, but does not hashing.. What could be ??  I installed 1.3.8 firmware

2)    If no pool is specified in the settings, the machine will sit idle with very little heat discharging out of the back of the unit.

3)    I updated the firmware with the jumper on the main board and then removed it after a restart.

4)    The 2 black buttons.... I have no idea what they do but mine were busted off when I received mine and I had to solder new buttons back on.

I spent the better part of 3 weeks fiddling with my first B8, keep trying and you will eventually be successful.  Try updating the firmware again using Version 1.2.0.  I tried running the new V 1.3.3 and I had similar results as you, could get into the software but the unit wouldnt hash.  My guess is Bitfury messed up this version of firmware or they didnt specify a specific update process for us to follow.

hi! I hope u guys are still around ! i have a Bitfury B8 too, By the moment ive been able to Join Binance Pool and Nicehash pool ... But my Hashrate its always arround 5-20 ... what can i do to rise it up, cuz its suposed to be arround 40-50

Just wanted to be sure.

I don't know the ssh commands.  This forum does not have a strong bitfury section.

are you completely sure the address you are trying via a wired router is the right one.

if your router is 192.168.0.1

and one 2 things are connected to the router

the miner say 192.168.0.30

your pc say 192.168.0.33

no wi fi all hard wired.

and you use advanced ip to do a scan

with 3 addresses showing

192.168.0.1  the router

192.168.0.30 the miner

192.168.0.33 the pc

unplug the miner and see if 192.168.0.30  drops off

if it drops off  then you are sure you are trying to connect to the correct piece of gear.

on windows 10

assuming you are certain of the address

use edge/explorer  browser

if no go use chrome browser

if no go use firefox browser

if no go  ask for more help about sting into the unit.

Does anyone have any guide to configure the BItfury B8 by SSH ?? not because the web browser does not allow me to access, I get the error: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Maybe it's because I do it from w10?

thats interesting, I run mine on a single 220V 30A.  You may have a defective backplane? (what the cards sit in) Im not sure, hopefully bitfury support can help?

Thanks again for the info.  I have now tried Slushpool, Antpool, BTC.com, and Kano Pool and no luck on any of them thus far.  That is interesting that you did the firmware update with the jumper on because the instructions specify to have the pins exposed - https://dl.bitfury.com/Support/Bitfury%20B8/.

I am not sure how much of a difference it makes because I have been able to update the firmware without having the jumper on.  Willing to try anything at this point so I am going to order a handful from Amazon.  I was unable to find another one on the MB when I just looked earlier.  Maybe it is hidden by the hashing cards?

Something else I just thought of, what power source to you have yours connected to?  I am running mine on a single 220v.  Not sure power might be causing the issue, but trying to cancel out all options.  All of the cards are powered up fine so I was assuming that was not the case.

Also, something else I just noticed when rebooting the machine was the following log entry - "Dec 10 03:33:08 777 OpenMiner[16599]: Found boards:   0".  So maybe it is having an issue detecting the actual hashing boards?  As mentioned before, I have re-seated all of them a few times and they are currently lit up showing they have power.

If you have a PC, you can crack open the case and steal the jumper from the CMOS pin on the Motherboard, that works perfectly, just dont put it on the wrong pin (CLR) when you are done updating the B8.  Otherwise I would just search amazon for motherboard jumper and it should pop up with something pretty cheap like this:

#protip.... Tie a piece of string to it, it makes removal much easier

Thank you for your response.  I am not sure what you mean by updating the firmware with the jumper.  Is there supposed to be some type of plug to place over the jumper to update the firmware?  The current jumper on the main board just has two exposed pins.  If there is a plug that is supposed to go over top of it then I might have to order one because nothing came with these devices. 

If that s the case, would you happen to know where I would be able to order one?

Thank you very much for sending this over, but no luck using this software as well.  I have been trying to hash using both Antpool and BTC.com and no luck with either.  I have a couple quick questions if you do not mind:

1.)  What mining pool are you using that you have been successfully able to connect to with your Bitfurys?
2.)  Should the miners start hashing as soon as they come up or do they need to connect to a pool first?
3.)  Did you update the firmware after configure the new SD card?
4.)  What are the two black buttons on the front panel used for?  I have been unable to figure this out.

Any additional help you can provide to figure out why these machines are not hashing would be very beneficial.  I am in contact with Antpool support, but they have been unable to help thus far as wel.

Try removing the Orange Pi board and re-seating it (im sure you have already tried this)
You might also verify that both power supplies are fully seated, I had to push mine really hard to get them all the way in and locked.
while you are in the case, go ahead and verify all the connections inside, ie cards fully seated, fan control board connections, etc.

Thank you for the follow up.  I have tried re-seating the Orange Pi as well as all of the hashing cards.  Though that process I was able to also verify the connectivity and everything appears to be lighting up as normal.  I was wondering if it was an issue connecting to the mining pool, but I have tried both Antpool as well as BTC Pool.  I have configured dozens of Antminers to connect to Antpool and never had any issues so it must be limited to the Bitfury's.  This still does not explain why the hashing cards are not showing up under Miner -> Info -> Boards Info as well.

I am looking forward to testing out your known working version of the firmware and hoping that solves the issue!

Thank you very much for the response and sorry to hear you went through the pain I am experiencing lol.  I have tried version 1.3.2, but nothing older than that.  I was not even able to get connected with 1.3.2 actually.  If you have a working copy of 1.2.0 I would greatly appreciate it!  Not sure if it matters, but I am on MB v3.1.



I am not sure if it helps shed any light on the situation, but I do not have any hashing card info being displayed in the GUI under Miner -> Info ->Boards Info.  I do have information under both Miner Info and Pool Info on that section though.  All of the hashing cards are powered on and lit up though.

Also, I am not sure of the light codes with the two front panel lights, but the current sequence I have is 13 red flashed on the bottom light followed by 1 green flash on the top light.  This is a repeating sequence and I have not been able to figure out what it means.

I recently went through my own battle with this monster.  Have you tried rolling back the software? Like Openminer V1.2.0?  I have a zip file if you need it, My B8 is on 1.2.0 and is currently hashing at 52TH/s.  I have heard bitfury was working on a new firmware that could push the B8 into Tardis territory (68TH/s) but I am not sure if I trust my source (salesman, HAHA)

Thank you for your response. There is a jumper on the motherboard and based on the instructions located in the Bitfury B8 Product Manual (https://bitfury.com/crypto-infrastructure/support), the jumper is not to be modified with any type of plug and the firmware is to be updated.  I have tried this multiple times and have not been able to get the cards to start hashing.  I actually to not have a plug for the jumper or not sure how I would need to modify it anyway.
Any other thoughts or support would be greatly appreciated!

I have a handful of Bitfury B8's I am trying to configure.  The issue is, they were all shipped with blank SD cards.  I imaged an SD card with the OpenMiner software (SD Card image): download (v.1.3.3) found here - https://bitfury.com/crypto-infrastructure/support.  I am able to connect to the miner and then add my mining pool address.  The problem is, the miner never starts hashing.  The hashing cards are all lit up and appear to be working fine.  
I have read through dozens of support pages and did all the basic troubleshooting I can think of (re-flashing the SD card, rebooting, firmware update, re-seating cards, etc.).  Any help would be much appreciated!
