I really dont get these broad "smart contract" statements...

From the article

Quote
The real world applications of this technology become staggering when you consider that some Smart Contracts can be programmed to arise in the future, based on a trigger, such as the passing of a relative. Such a contract would then come into existence and act as a will or trust.

Tell me how you can proove, without doubt, that my Grandma (bless) has passed away? Without a 3rd party?

My goal is becaming a billionaire.
Paypal can integrate with BTC, so it is not a threat to Paypal.

I don't agree on this point to be honest , Bitcoin is self is a threat for Paypal , people keep leaving Paypal and joining Bitcoin world just because of that Chargebacks bullshit & getting Limited accounts with no good reason  Roll Eyes
I am not so sure about this. Paypal has name recognition that bitcoin does not have. Granted they do have massive amounts of issues/problems however buyers have confidence that they are protected when they use paypal.

That's the problem , It protect the buyer and the "scammer" so they can basically chargeback whenever they wants to .. It was 45 days now it's up to 180 days (even worst to be honest )

I'm not sure if this is true.
From business viewpoint, if you offer just BTC as payment, you will not attract many buyers.
Paypal is still ''must have'' payment option and mainstream.
BTC is still not close to this status.
Hopefully, this will change over time and BTC will replace paypal eventually, but I don't think that this will happened any rime soon.
At this moment, bTC is not a threat for Paypal.

Now I agree on some points Grin I can understand that Paypal is a must have payment method which should be or it is basically on every online shop over the Internet . but I would say that Paypal is only more famous then BTC because it came first and it's open since 1999 .

& yeah .. BTC will replace paypal for sure even if it's not soon. Paypal keep screwing up with new policies each time like their last policy of Buyer protection "180 days" ... Like what the hell ? I will use the Digital goods for 179 days then "oh ok let's chargeback" . c"mon

Hodl!
CCN is probably the least reputable news source out there. I would not rely on them.

There's a couple of good contributors, and it's worth a scan over when doing the rounds, but yah, they seem to get paid and agenda-ist articles quite a lot.

'Smart Contracts', How exactly do these work? If a technology can provide ways of securing a transaction without using escrow, it can defo increase the amount of trade with Bitcoin.

"BitHalo allows parties to create actual binding agreements peer to peer without the hassle or risk of involving a 3rd party. It solves enforcement for most, if not all, types of contracts VIA both parties sharing an equal risk. This software removes profitability from theft or fraud and allows anyone anywhere to trust a stranger."

From what I understood it's like emailing Bitcoins instead of money if I'am correct . Found it like a nice idea to be honest
What do you guys think about it ?

The only application in which that would work would be when two users are trading two crypto currencies (for example bitcoin and litecoin). It would not work with fiat because it would be impossible for the smart contract to know if fiat was actually received

Nice concept and idea. If it can work something like an escrow service without requiring 3rd party involvement and additional fees, then it should be fine.

Presale is live!
Hmm did someone say blackcoin?
The idea is really good, but it bothers me when people market it like it was a solution to absutely all problems with exchance. The seller could easily lose btc if the buyer disappears without signing the contract. It's a good step in the right direction though.
