As a TOR hidden service, what would stop it from becoming a honey pot?  Grin

What is a honey pot? O.o

Email is a centralized protocol. You could claim to be anonymous but still release emails to authorities. In fact, you'd be forced to, if you were subpoena'd. Or you could sell the information to people.

Many people suspect that even TORmail is a honeypot. This is why BitMessage is clearly superior than ANY email protocol.

TORmail is a honeypot for sure. Only fools use it for "top secret" stuff.

Only way to be reasonably safe is to use encryption in all your communications.

he who has the gold makes the rules
Bitmessage will do the job.

will it???  Tongue

i tried it and it took forever to gen an address.  then those funky rules around when emails get sent with proof of work being done on the client, I don't want my cell phone's battery getting drained just so I can send a quick email/msg.  the cost is too high to use in my opinion at the moment

and as far as i can tell there is no way to create mail mining nodes so one could offer an ad funded service like gmail.

the client looks like crap...

b/c it does not interface with the current system it will have adoption issues, since most people are not paranoid about their email, unless they have a reason to be paranoid

Yes, I think this project would be great.

There is a few services like it, but maybe it should be without ads.

Does anyone want to create BITMAIL?
It would run on TOR and be based on outlook, and its ads would be bitcoin relevant.
Also, there would be btc themes, etc, and you would recieve BTC for browsing the ads.

always the student, never the master.
Check out Frog. Web based BitMessage.

Critical question: is the encryption and decryption client side or server side? If it's the former, this is huge. If it's the latter, interesting but not that much.
All encryption will be client side.

to bad no one has donated. plenty of  greedy bastards around here hoarding thousands of coins . they can't spare a few to help though?
