This is yet another example of how the industry is so hard for newcomers to break into. You come online and you are bombarded with news and media publications hyping up the so-called unicorns of the industry.

You see Genesis (cloudmining), Bitmain (mining hardware), Coinbase (exchange) all getting into the news every few weeks. Every step they do, every acquisition, every announcement gets the full coverage treatment. So their formal reputations are set: big, famous, successful.

But their infamies are more obscure, only familiar to all of us on these forums. Lousy customer support, poor delivery of product/service, or downright shady behavior and scammy attitudes.

The only way for normal people to make profits with mining is GPU mining.
Normal people should distance themselves from mining because there is not much to gain anyway. Getting your initial investment back takes more than a year, and that is like an eternity in the crypto world.

The first few months of the year have always been months with relatively lower levels, which grants people more than fair levels to buy at. Instead of investing in GPUs, invest it in crypto.

Direct investments in crypto means less of all the negative variables that mining exposes you to, but more potential gains, especially if you take advantage of this market's longer term price swings.

Every year offers multiple profitable enter and exit moments.

Bitmain is directly competing with you for mining profits and they are making the equipment that you have to buy in order to mine.

Why do you think you'd ever be able to profit in such an arrangement?

The only way for normal people to make profits with mining is GPU mining.

I don't know why crypto mining revolves around prepaid agreements that aren't even signed by both sides. The buyers are usually paying for products that don't even exist but according to the seller are in production. The seller can then do whatever he wants: delay the shipment, don't ship at all, mine with the product while it's being delayed, ship to friends and family first, take bribes from people who want to be first in line. This is a joke fueled by greed.

Maybe they're busy and honestly $5500 is a large amount of money.

Well bitmain is not scam maybe they are busy to assist all their customers and all their hardware is in demand this year.

Just keep contacting them and send a ticket about your issue so that they are aware about you.

Honestly, bitmain these days were getting worse because the quality of their miners compared before is different.

Their customer service response is too slow.
I think their customer service is fine but because of many newcomers that investing in mining, this might be the reason for their slow response.
But they are still legit and selling a new product that can mine with both altcoin and bitcoin.
Just keep contacting them they will response sometimes in instant sometimes 3 days.

Honestly, bitmain these days were getting worse because the quality of their miners compared before is different.
It's mass production nowadays. The only thing that matters for them is pushing out as much hardware as possible, and that obviously doesn't allow them to maintain high quality standards. I actually expect it to get worse due to the new competitors that will flood the market with the same quality (if not better) hardware, but at lower prices. Bitmain will have to follow with lowering their prices, and that will again mean lower overall quality.

I know it's the most famous mining company.
Actually, it is the most infamous mining/crypto related business in this market. People have no other option than to use them due to their cartel position, but it won't take long for this to change. It's just a matter of time.

Bitmain is just a very calculated scam to bleed you slowly of your money, patience and time.....

Beware,,,, you have been warned.... You will never get that carrot.... Just buy your hash power.....

Well, you seem to be under a lot of stress. Are you okay now? I know it's the most famous mining company. I haven't tried it, but I'm very shocked if what you say is true. I hope it works out well.

Not totally scam but usually they have so worst customer service that it makes me think that they are scam.
Nearly one years ago they were active here and threads opened in scam accusation board were taken seriously.
Now their profile is tagged too because of their shady actions.
Thank you for sharing this but where the hell can we buy those equipments? They are still the only choice.
If you have experience with baikal, what can you tell me about them? Does it worths to buy from them over bitmain?
Observe the same thing where those early years where Bitmain is way too responsive when they are just starting up on the business but now when they do already somehow control the market when it comes to miner supply it turns out that they are already forgetting or lost focus when it comes to customer service and im not surprised that complaints is already piling up as the time goes by.You are right we dont have any other options rather than on bitmain itself when it comes to hardware matters. There are some choices but im still confident with the main company.

If you're looking for SHA256 miner alternatives, Avalon still sells their 8XX series that are as efficient as the S9s but are much more reliable than the S9s- plus, you won't suffer from the issues that come with Bitmain, and Avalon delivers relatively quickly even purchasing from their online store direct. Bitmain is definitely not the only choice- you may pay less for Bitmain miners, but you also run the risk of expensive repairs and issues like OP posted if you so choose to buy from them.

I don't consider the Innosilicon T2s SHA256 miners because they are truly only capable of hashing on a select number of pools, and that's not a limitation of a true SHA256 miner.

If you're looking for miners for sale, the Computer Hardware section is a great place to start, but make sure to use escrow. I don't recommend using Amazon or eBay for miner purchases as everything is going to be massively overpriced there.

OK I started out as a bias customer. I have to date purchased over 10 bit main units. The actual hardware generally works and does what it is supposed to. HOWEVER.. RUN! fast and far.....

They have held my payments due to a messed up system. I was going to purchase more 1st batch Z9 units with my payout from my last batch. Along with using about 5500 dollars of coupons... Well and still waiting on my payments to clear. They have since closed 1st batch orders. AND NOW I just received a cancel notice on my $5500 dollars of coupons...
And I STILL don not have my payments yet...
This is a repeating "MO" (mode of operation) of this company an has proven to be a total loss. The machines by the time you actually get your hands on one will be into a diluted market in which will take on average 2 years to return your payment and that's if the diff didn't change. Take that into account and you have a loss.....Oh yeah and forget about getting one fast enough to make any return. I have had 1st batches and if their site even works. You will have your money stuck..

!!!!!!-- ALL 1st BATCH purchases have been delayed either in payments or connectivity when you finally get them....!!!!!!

Bitmain is just a very calculated scam to bleed you slowly of your money, patience and time.....

Beware,,,, you have been warned.... You will never get that carrot.... Just buy your hash power.....

Lesson learn do not trust to any site with incomplete details, any way it's sad to think that you have been a victim of this site , worth of $ 5500? can not easily find that value. Anyway thanks for the information you made everyone here in the forum will be warned about the BITMAIN site.
