They gave me 9 points for my order of the t17+

I went from 43 to 52

It would be nice to know what I am getting and holding onto the point for.

I have a 47 dollar coupon in hand. It expires april 30

I have a t17 due to arrive on May 1

I may order another one next week.

I will go from 52 to 61 points.

Dear ---------,

Thanks for your consultation!
We have not decided how to use point system yet.

There's an answer to all of your questions. Smiley

P.S. I bolded things I edited from their email as they are quite bad at English.

Is it still a promo if you "raise" your price to account for those coupons? Look, I might be sceptical but in my country (at least) for Black Friday, all regular prices go up and they just slash them and say it's 50%(or more) discount, while it might be 0% or something small like 5% discount compared to last month.

I am just saying that it is highly possible that they are doing just that but even more subtle as they first release gear with high price and then send out coupons and slowly lower the price to it's real value.

They gave out tens of thousands of dollars in coupons last fall and allowed paypal purchases .  Pretty much was a promo to buy gear for Oct and Nov 2019.

I am not sure if they are even going to have worth in $.

Bitmain and promo? Two words that I can hardly see used together in same sentence.

Well good at least it is not a mistake.  I wonder what these are going to be worth.

I have 43  if they are 10 bucks a point it would be 430  which would make a new s19 more attractive.

Coins are low  8700-8800  maybe they will do a good promo for this new gear.

If you go into your account and click on "Sale Order" then "Shipped" to only show the shipped orders.

Then on the right hand side of the order info there is a section that says "Total order price: XXXX.XX"

Thats the total after discounts, coupons, shipping etc.

Add the ones up since 29th October and it should work out to 1 point per $100 spent.

Well it does for me.

Yeah, I just went over every single mail and order and I am exactly 1 point per 100$ as everyone else. I am not sure how I miscalculated the amount of $ spent last time...

Also, I have contacted Bitmain to check if they will give more info, but support hasn't even heard about those points, they were surprised when I showed them screenshots of it... So I guess we will have to wait.

Yeah, if everyone else is 1 point per 100$ just ignore my calculations for now, I will have to take another (better) look at it.

Odd...
So if everyone is close to 1 point per 100$ spent, why am I closer to 0.5 per 100$ spent.

I will contact them to ask about that, and I'll try to extract all the info about those points from their customer support.

Your points are pretty confusing to be honest, i asked one of the resllers whom i trust, he got about 800 points for an order of $80,000 , so pretty much close to 0.01 points per dollar, or 1 point to $100.

I guess maybe you have some orders placed on the 29th itself, that day might not count towards the final points as it says "after 29".

I only counted price paid (before coupons) from emails which noted "product shipped".
I never used credits on orders.
I did not count actual BTC laid out, I only counted $ equivalent that I spent.
I do not have any credit balance and all units have been shipped.
They returned me around 800$ of credit if I remember correctly, but that is till nowhere near 1 point per 100$ as (4700-800)/28 is still around 0.007.
If I shipping and coupons, I will be a hell of a less then 0.4 points per 100$.

Did you count  pre coupon price?

Did you count pre credit price?

Did you count actual cash/btc/coin/paypal  laid out?

Do you have outstanding credit balance.

my 4400 spent is after credits after coupons and does not include shipping.

If you count credits 1100 and shipping 400 and coupons 600

I add to 6500 and 43 points.

I've purchased $10962 since Oct 30 and have 101 points. So pretty close to 1 point per $100 spent.

They could just be using them to track long term loyalty. So maybe they'll offer early access to batches if your points are higher than some number, like perks on airlines for frequent flyers.

yeah seems to be 1 point per 💯.  that is close to the 43 in my account and the 79 is close to the 8000 spent by my hoster.   i also think buysolar spent about 3500 and has 33 points.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I have 28 points and since Oct 29.2019. I have spent around 4700 USD (w/o shipping) on their website.

I have been trying to crack this point system, or at least how are they calculated, so far no luck, I got 67 points and total purchase since Oct 30.2019 is $6372 without shipping and $6845 with shipping, I have used coupons on all of those orders.

67 points for 6372 = 0.01 points for every dollar

yours is 28 / 4700 = 0.0059 points for every dollar

That way of calculation does not make any sense, I will try to collect more data in order to come with a better understanding of how were those points distributed, would appreciate other people's inputs, the larger the sample the more accurate the results, I hope it has nothing to do with the type of gear you bought because that will be a lot more difficult to figure out.

Yeah  a lot of people will misuse paypal mine until april and claim gear failure.

All the gear we ordered about 35000 worth  the final payments are due May or June.

We can make claims up until those dates.  So bitmain and paypal  year round to everyone will never happen.  But bitmain giving paypal to a buyer like me

(7 years of purchases more then 250,000 usd worth of gear)  never returned gear for an rma.  May be doable.

Well hoping it is a good program  as my hoster has 79 points I have 43 points buysolar has 32 points.

We may get a box from them the

20 foot Antbox N5 SE

Yo, imagine if you could use your points for extended warranty for your miners...  Shocked

Also, yeah, I agree, PayPal would attract so many buyers... But I understand why they disabled it.

Yeah  let me have paypal again.  Me and my partners ordered 11+25= 36k in paypal  mostly  s17pros

It is nice to actually have a warranty on gear you can enforce vs the warranty bitmain gives to purchasers that used BTC.

I have a possible investor of 400,000  He would feel happier if we buy with paypal vs BTC or bank drafts.

So my guess these points will discount a 5nm preorder item.

This would be awesome, but it is highly unlikely, in my humble opinion, they will probably be used as a way to differentiate new users from their loyal ones, for example, they would give benefits to loyal ones like PayPal option or more crypto options to pay. Or they could implement a system where you can use a few points and have your unit(s) shipped before anyone else (if no1 else uses more points than you) no matter when you order (as long as it is in same batch).

Or they will simply think of something none of us have even thought about. But I have a few more theories.

So Bitmain is finally going to put an end to the resale discount coupon market? By switching to "points" (like flying miles) and tie them to each customer account, they don't need to bother with the coupons anymore...

I highly doubt that. What makes you think that Bitmain is actually worried/upset about the resale of coupons? I highly doubt this, first of all, they could simply disable the "Donate" button, takes a second to implement, there is no need for an alternative, the second and more important reason is the fact that it does not matter if I use the coupon or give/sell it to you, from Bitmain's perspective it's $$ coming in, it does not matter who brings it.

... I thought for a moment they were going to issue a token too Smiley

Don't they have one already called BCH?  Grin

Given the blatant resale of coupons (even on Bitmain's official social media) its surprising they took so long, or maybe they didn't care or condone it?

Anyway coupon re-sellers will be sad. I thought for a moment they were going to issue a token too Smiley

I have 18 points, as for the new miners will be 5nm what is the main difference between them and the current miners

Well obviously they will be more efficienct (more hashrate for the same power consumption / same hashrate for less power) and of course more expensive and probably less durable judging by S9 vs S11 vs 15 vs S17.

I have not thought of such a thing, but honestly makes a lot of sense now that you mentioned it. Since it costs nothing to dream, I would like to think of it as 1 point = 1 Terahash free of charge.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, let's try to keep this thread updated, I am trying to collect information regarding this matter from my Chinese friends, so far nobody seems to know anything about it, however, they usually get the news beforehand.

This topic will be for discussion on the new "My Points" thing Bitmain has released.

It says

Quote
Bitmain points are calculated based on the history purchase amount after oct 29 2019. As for specific usage rules, please wait for further notifications.

Can everyone check their accounts and see if the "my points" appears under "my account" tab? and what do you think that will be? some special discount after reaching x number of points?
