I've been reading a few threads about the "Pain given by Bitmain" problems and i must say its friggin ridicilous how they treat good paying loyal customers. Its time for people to unite and put a stop to this.
We miners are the one's who made Bitpain big and we shouldnt accept this from them.

Only way is to STOP BUYING from them...but fools & their money are soon parted as always  Roll Eyes

I only know of 2 maybe 3 people in this forum with low enough power to make mining barely work............

no idea what 'the pin' is supposed to mean.

Anyway-  Bitmain have now offered to pay for me to return the 2nd faulty hash board at their expense.

AND they have said they will 'try' to replace both the faulty boards. So I am feeling hopeful now.

Shame I had to write them 100 threatening emails to get to this point but hey - at least they seem to be honoring their warranty now...

we will see.... if I ever get any hash boards back again! I hope so...

Did you get your Hashboards back ?

My topic is here

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitmains-refused-from-s9-warranty-buy-at-your-own-risk-914354

Do I have to write

I might just fly over to Hong Kong and put a brick through their car window.
Maybe not today, maybe in 5 years time, I will find some Bitmain staff's car and smash it up with a baseball bat.
I am a big fan of revenge served up cold.
They will never know why but one day something valuable of theirs will be broken.
i do not forget my enemies.

So I PAID $1800 USD for a fuckign 4 TH/s miner - YIPPEEEEEE !!!!!!!!

I AM GOING TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS TRIBUNAL.

HERE IS ALL THE INFO YOU NEED TO DO IT (Hong Kong)

http://www.judiciary.gov.hk/en/crt_services/pphlt/html/sc.htm

I am wondering if I need to go to court in China or Hong Kong?

The warranty repars are in Hong Kong - but the machine was sent to me from China - i think....

Lets pretend it was 100% legit that they fell off during transit what does this mean the current warranty policy is next to worthless.  That simply encourages GPU MINING OF ETH

So basically Bitmaintech is encouraging mining ETH with gpus.

The real question is why?

I have a lot of ETH gear  and less  BTC gear simply because of this.

Instead of making miners go crazy  with warranty how about letting a miner just buy a board at a discount.

My account shows I purchased 6 s-9's why not allow me to buy up to 3 replacement boards  rather then spend good money shipping to a dead board to china only to be told  you lose

can't repair it.

They are getting tired of whiny, bitchy, ahole customers (just my thoughts, not that you are Tupsu) & want to be rid of us like KnC & other ASIC companies have done  Roll Eyes

I'm glad I'm done mining BTC,it was a great time for 4 years & I'll never forget those long nights setting up GPU/ASIC miners or just waiting for BFL gear to show up  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well that's pretty shitty policy.
So their advise to make a claim for the logistics agent makes no sense at all.
Best case scenario with that claim would be getting 45USD back if I'm understanding this correctly.

Yes. But I shipped with the value of 20 USD

I have exactly the same package sent three more blades to repair. The same courier company, without any issue.

EDIT.

From Bitmain shipping rules

View original size - Click on the picture

Returning policy:

1.   Warranty period: 90 days after the product is shipped out. Repair tickets should be created within 90 days, otherwise the warranty will be void.

2.   Please MAKE SURE the declare value should be “within $45” and the description of the product should be
“Warranty part” on the waybill, otherwise the extra fee of custom clearance will be billed to the client.
 3.   For the miner, please DO NOT return the whole unit , and simply return the defective part (Hash board, IO board or BB board),please refer to the pictures below.
For the PSU ,please  do not disassemble it and ship back the whole unit.
 4.   Be sure enclosed  the RMA info in the format below in the parcel .

5.  The package will be rejected if there is no Repair Ticket created.

So I can not insure the shipment with   the real value of it.

There must been some rough handling in some part of the shipment and although you packed it well, two heat sinks fell of.
But as we have seen with the S7, Bitmain has had some quality issues with the thermal adhesive used in heat sinks and pictures about suddenly detaching S7 heat sinks have been posted in this forum.

So even with a photo of a clean board  you were rejected.
You know maybe  they have a bad employee  and he or she is stealing from the company. Think about this from the owners viewpoint does he really want the bad publicity that  the warranty issues are causing?  This type of publicity will hurt sales.

My photos are like yours zero visible damage to the board, but I do have  markings on my bad board. Some one penciled over the label.

That don't matter...they are in China,no rules apply like in the US or EU.

There is nothing you can say or do or threaten them with to get them to do anything for you....you are screwed if they don't want to do the right thing  Roll Eyes

Welcome to the REAL Bitcoin world, this is the future of the hackable, steal your wallet,no refund for you future  Cheesy

You might say that now, but if OP goes to court (as he claims he will), then you can bet your bottom dollar that either the laws of OP's country of origin, Chinese law or international law WILL apply. Otherwise, a court is not possible.

I'm not saying it would completely ruin his case, but posting that kinda shit will easily lead to a statement such as 'the customer used threats and aggressive behavior to state his demands'.

Bitcoin is just another commodity, like cheese or steel. In some countries it's defined as a currency, but leave that aside for now. Even if you are trading commodities across borders, it IS possible to hold someone responsible if they do not adhere to the agreement landed upon purchase or breach of any applicable law (such as protection of consumers via treaty/national law or regular agreement-laws). So, I guess, welcome to the real world where (if you have enough money to take someone to court) people are sometimes held responsible for their actions.

I'm surprised Bitmain capitulated to your demands, they seem so cock sure. I guess they saw the threads on the forum and decided there were too many bad publicity out here.

Hey Bitmain,

Don't capitulate! You look weak when you're strong, don't forget these idiots will come back begging for your miners sooner or later.

I also had an experience with getting a S9 (12.93 TH/s version) with a bad hashboard. We received the miner on June 16th. Powered it up (we are in a data center with heavily reliable electrical systems) and the one board never turned on. Keep in mind there was still 85+ days left on their manufacturer warranty. Initially they refused to accept the warranty claim, saying there wasn't any way it came damaged and we had caused the damage. After some heavy bitching and begging, they said we could ship it back, but the repairs may not be covered by the warranty. Sent it back June 20th. Here it is August 15th and we still haven't heard a word back from them about it. Had someone inquire on the status today. We have spent well over $150k on miners from Bitmain. Luckily most of our machines have worked to spec or are within tolerance. However even with all the money that we have given them, we get no special treatment and are still treated like we are a problem. If they continue this practice, they may be subject to some international class action lawsuit.

WOW! They really are stupid. Why don't they want happy customers. Right now, I think I would NEVER recoomend Antminers And I will NEVER buy from these people again.
I hope they go bust.
I have 2 dead boards on a brand new S9  - and they are refusing to replace it. ASSH**LES

What's interesting is that if you shop for "Bitmain on Google", no S9 miners are sold.
..

Are you sure you know how  use Google ?

https://www.google.ee/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=wFymV_LGA4vZ8AengorwAg&gws_rd=ssl#q=antminer+S9+bitmaintech

Sorry, I had the make it clear to retards option, off.

To clearly elucidate this thought: https://support.google.com/trustedstores/answer/1669901?hl=en

For example, if you purchase stuff from Newegg, at the very end of the order, Google offers this free purchase protection.

Bitmain is not a google trusted store, thus no Google purchase protection.

The meta point is that unlike many retailers, BITMAIN doesn't appear to sell the S9 directly on ebay or amazon and neither are they a Google trusted store. This is a customer unfriendly indicator.

Not the whole world does not orbit around the big companies of America.
I do not have a Google Account and have never had a Facebook account.

Maybe you know some Google trusted store where the only payment options is BTC and USD transfer ?
Bitmain not want credit cards and PayPal payments.
As some eBay sellers BITMAIN say :
1.Order cancellation or refund request will not be entertained by Bitmain. We advise you to make any payment only after careful consideration.
2. All sales are final. No refunds will be granted. Defective miners can be repaired for free if they fall under the Bitmain warranty policy.

Why should Bitmain  need some  google "trust" ?
If the Bitmaintech store  does not fit, do not buy it.

You can buy at a higher price from "trusted store" , However, this trust does not give by Bitmain,  because Bitmain  does not have official dealers.

I have been lucky only to have to ship back one dead board on an S7.  Which they promptly lost never to be seen again.
But yes, if you get a bad miner, you just lost your money.  Because they don't backup their product or take into account how their failure effects their customers.  If there was another game in town, I'd treat them the same way they have treated me.  Zero loyalty.

I totally agree - if there was ANYONE else making a similar miner - I would go to them.

The other interesting thing is the pricing of risk if you purchase an S9. On Amazon there are 2 for $3220 each, while on the main site they are $2400 today. Very roughly, you have to buy 3 from Bitmain directly to get 2 working ones. The 3rd one I guess is for spare parts.

If you gen'ed up a $10 website full of S9 problems, I wonder if you could spend a few bucks on Google or MS adwords to have a popup ad every some one searches on Bitmain or S9 ASIC etc etc.

Maybe we can start a class action suit against them if they pull this stunt to lots of people.
Want to join in a lawsuit against them?

Maybe we can start a class action suit against them if they pull this stunt to lots of people.
Want to join in a lawsuit against them?

I f**king can't stand people who steal my money. I will get them somehow.

I might try to take them to court over consumer rights - Hong Kong.
Surely it is illegal to send faulty goods and then refuse to repair or replace them?

Yes it seems the Warranty is just fake.

Here is the (laughable if I hadn't lost so much money) current ongoing conversation with the Bitmain Support:

Dear will,

After reconfirming, this hashboard PIN is lost which is caused by the logistics.

Please kindly find the hashboard picture for your reference.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

MY REPLY: "You sent me a faulty Miner. Please fix or refund me.

Thanks"

Dear will,

Sorry about the inconvience caused!

Warranty will cover the repair if the hashing is low or software problem.

While this hash board was damaged in the logistics and the PIN was lost as a result it can not be fixed any more.

Dear will,

The problem is not we do not repair but the hashboard can not be fixed anymore because of that two of chips were falled down and the PIN on the board were damaged in the way of returning.

Please check the picture attached.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Fuck Bitmain.

Seriously.

They've gone full evil since they released the S5's.

Doesn't help that there hasn't been any competition for them.

Fuck everything about the Chinese business culture.

Okay, I've seen this before.

1. Post pictures of the dashboard (the one showing hashrate and blade error messages)
2. Post pictures of your mining setup
3. Post Pictures of the faulty boards (close-up) DO NOT OPEN YOUR UNIT FOR THIS, IT WILL VOID THE WARRANTY, take close-ups from the outside, including the red LED near the power connectors.
4. Post Pictures of the controller board (also, don't open it) and see what lights are on.

Many people have complained before and it has typically been one of 3 things.
1. Improper settings/drivers
2. Improper setup (all power plugs need to be connected, DO NOT MIX POWER SUPPLIES!)
3. Improper usage (I've seen previous users who ran theirs outside, took pictures, then sent it off for warranty, when Bitmain called them out on the water damage and even sent back a makeshift repaired blade, then the user went ape)

Damn Tupsu that sucks.  Best of luck going forward.  I got lucky with the s7 (no defects), but sold them and got scared of the s9, so I just built some gpu rigs.  What a world we live in.  Dont feel too bad, it'll be all profit if btc goes to the moon.

You may have used words that made them think the board is broken in half or such. But this sound like typical Bitmain. If it work, good, if it doesnt, you're fucked either way.

They're slow and generally incompetent to help fix your issues. If they do accept, it take forever and cost a lot of money to chip back there. If you're lucky they wont forget to send all parts back after they're done.

please see my other post for full details about Bitmain's con tricks:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.15833273

In summary:

I bought 2 S9's - one of them broke within 2 hours of being switched on.
Bitmain refuse to repair it.
I am suing them.

I WARN ANYONE NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CON ARTISTS

here is there email to me:

I have 5 Antminers, 4 S'7's and 1 other S9 all running in the exact same environment. same temps - same power system etc.
This one S9 had a faulty hashing board within 2 hours - Bitmain refuse to fix it.

CONCLUSION - Stay away from Bitmain.

I have spent over $14,000 USD with these scumbags and now they SH*T on me like this !!! Unbelievable.

I am going to sue them through my very powerful lawyers in Hong Kong that will surely cost them a lot. I don't care how much it costs me - I just want to waste as much of their time as possible.
I will keep you all posted as to what happens.
