Also with summer heat  they set them lower.

Seasonal user ambient temps, due to weather, have nothing to do with manufactured hardware frequencies.

Processor companies do the same thing all the time (the only difference is they remodel the "weaker" ones - like Bitmain did with the S7-LNs):

Company X designs "xYz processor" to run @ 4GHz.
10% of chips will only run stable @ 3.75 GHz.
Company X sells those 10% as "xYzW processor" to run @ 3.5GHz.

Rather than "rebrand" weaker boards, Bitmain is just running them in small "batches" (rather than redesigning like they did with the S7-LNs).

Hi guys,
Canada anyone explain why the S9 has different hash rates between models?

14.0TH/s runs at 650Mhz
12.93TH/s runs at 600Mhz
11.85TH/s runs at 550Mhz

Basically, Batch 1 was overclocked to brag and pique interest, 600MHz is the "normal", and 550MHz is the boards that weren't good enough to run @ 600Mhz for long time trials.

Also with summer heat  they set them lower.

Most of the gear runs well at 550 if you do not have a cold air supply.

Hi guys,
Canada anyone explain why the S9 has different hash rates between models? I know the S7s had different numbers of Asics in later models, but the only difference I see in the S9s is power usage differences? Also has anyone heard any tidbits on the up coming batches? Thanks!

S9 B1              14.0TH/s ± minus 5%  = 13,3Th/s

S9-B2              12.93TH/s ± minus 5% =12,28 TH/s

S9-B3              12.93TH/s ± minus 5% =12,28 TH/s

S9-B4              12.93TH/s ± minus 5% =12,28 TH/s

S9 B5              11.85TH/s ± minus 5%=11,26TH/s

S9-B6              11.85TH/s ± minus 5%=11,26TH/s

S9-B7              12.93TH/s ± minus 5% =12,28 TH/s

S9-B8              11.85TH/s ± minus 5%=11,26TH/s

S9-B9              12.93TH/s ± minus 5% =12,28 TH/s
