Are you sure they are active? I called their phone number earlier today (which was posted on Bitmains website / Repair ticket walk-through) and it was out of service.

Last time I had a s9 board repaired/replaced by BitmainWarranty a couple months ago it was:
$14 for me to ship it to them via USPS standard-rate box - that included insuring it for $450 if it got lost. Per Bitmain and sending to China, max declared value must be under $40...
Repair/replacement was $149 inc return shipping.

I had a board go out on a S9 a few months ago and went thru bitmainwarranty.. And the whole process was smooth...I submitted a request for repair...They sent back a repair ticket number and address and instructions on where to ship board. They are located in Denver Colorado...USA.. I shipped board...within 2 days after they received it they said it could be repaired....They sent an invoice which is paid thru Amazon...and I had my board back a few days after that. The whole process from start to finish was about 12 days.

Depending on how quick Bitmainwarranty.com works - which is what we're curious about - I would certainly save the money and time (time which translates into more money) by sending it to Bitmainwarranty.com.

I think most buyers would just lose money sending it back to China and getting it back.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It wouldn't be worth it to repair under warranty if it meant spending $250 to ship it to China, and having it take over a month to get back to you.

Not going to damage anything. Bitmain has never said what changes they make or why and the boards all seem to work exactly the same.

This 2.4 is as performant as the 3.9; and is compatible with the S9? I can't find references on the boards anywhere; am reluctant to just 'plug it in' and do damage.

Board 'repairs' are rarely actually repairs done to - your - board. Typically a board is examined to determined if it can be salvaged/repaired at a later date. If it can, a different board which HAS been repaired is returned to the customer. As long as the exchanged board performs to spec, all is good.

That process is typical for any non-warranty repair of any specialized electronic device that does not have a steady supply of new parts being made. In this case it is the ASIC's that are rare as hens teeth.

Hey guys.

I had a broken board on a brand new 13.5 Antminer S9. Shipping to China was $265 bucks, so Bitmain recommended I give the people at bitmainwarranty.com a try.

Through their support ticket system, they told me the could repair my board for $175, which I paid.

When the new board got here, I noticed that it wasn't of the same type. I had sent them a v3.9, and they shipped back a v2.4. It doesn't look near the same, but I don't know much on the subject.

Help appreciated.
