I don't agree with Mr. Hayes, but he gave some advice to the crypto community. He said that crypto voters (if there's anything like that) should ask elected officials to push for pro-crypto laws before election day.

Some readers may believe this essay is a thinly veiled attempt to poison the minds of pro-crypto Trump supporters. I am not a member of either political party, nor do I care who wins the US Presidential election. The party in power has the means and motive to do whatever it takes to remain in power. This is even more true if the ruling party has done questionable things to block the opposition from taking the reins. That is why it’s more effective to work with the Democratic party. If the situation were reversed, I would advocate supporting the Republicans. The point is that, in a highly polarized two-party system, being partisan is detrimental to achieving your single-issue policy goal.

Copycat

If crypto voters in the US can pass a simple yet profound piece of pro-crypto legislation, it will be highly publicized. As a result, it will politically activate crypto holders in other jurisdictions where a small, vocal, and focused minority voting bloc can achieve legislative results.

Look how quickly Hong Kong and the London Stock Exchanges launched or scheduled launches of Bitcoin spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) once the US listed an ETF. Nation-state competition is our friend. Suppose there is a serious effort to use this unique moment in history to push through a transformative, simple, yet effective piece of pro-crypto legislation in the US. In that case, it behooves non-Americans to help the cause.

Helping the cause means shaming individuals and companies that propose legislation that reeks of crypto-crony capitalism. Helping the cause means analyzing and offering feedback on serious proposals. Helping the cause means demanding that those who claim to champion crypto politically in the US not accept the empty platitudes of politicians seeking reelection but demand concrete action now before the votes are cast. And finally, helping the cause means organizing a similar effort in your country if it is a representative democracy featuring highly polarized political parties where no one party has an overwhelming majority.

Such absolutely bs to make such allegations. Trump has had clear engagements with crypto projects & holds cryptocurrency. Even if it is a more recent turn the fact that he is embracing isn’t an act, it’s a strategy and a damn smart one at that. Haters will always say it’s fake.

The point is, the show of "good interest" could not be sincere, BUT that's absolutely OK because the attention alone and the fact that they are using Bitcoin as part of their political campaign is priceless. It means that Bitcoin has arrived and it will be here to stay. Other institutions will probably find their own Bitcoin agenda to add advantage against their competitors like banks advertising that their trading desks have Bitcoin ETFs available while their competitors have none. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If our consideration is effects from their political campaigns for Bitcoin adoption, we will definitely see it as very good contribution from them, either they are sincere or insincere. For free marketing for Bitcoin and potential increasing adoption by their campaigns, benefit should be good.

Consider their political campaigns as noise, free noise on media for Bitcoin, somewhat compares it to noise from Bitcoin halving every four years, we will see effects from previous Bitcoin halvings on Bitcoin price and bull runs are very good. Adoption brings new users who will bring new capital into the market. Bigger capital, more demand, price will be benefited from it.

They will come in because of greed, but like many of us plebs who stayed, many of them will also stay because of developing a new understanding that Bitcoin is ground-breaking technology/a breakthrough that could bring forth real and actual social change. We probably can't feel or see it because we're inside the actual event itself, but from a mere outsider/observer's eye, it could definitely be seen.

Hm, attempting to pass pro-crypto legislation before the elections is an interesting idea, but there is a very small amount of time left, so I honestly don't know if it's realistic. But it would be intriguing to see how Democrats vs Republicans vote on such a bill. It could change some minds regarding the upcoming election if it turns out that Democrats are more cooperative and/or that Republicans are not pro-crypto.
Vote on it as support or against, veto the bill will depend on opinion that this issue is important or not important. If it is important in their opinions, they will vote against the bill and wait for a completion of President Election, to have a new administration before passing any important bill for their country.

If Biden realizes that the crypto question is such a big one for the US voters, he might change his approach as well, but I'm honestly not sure that Biden is fit for analysing such things or for running to get reelected.
There are more important things for Biden to consider. First his health, mental health and consciousness because it is very important for his decision to continue Presidency election program or abandon it, step down.

There is a video on how Biden confused and failed to differentiate another woman with his wife The first Lady.

You will be unsmart if you doubt Mr Hayes, the guy is only speaking the truth. I wonder why you guys don't know the truth from lies and desperation from true intentions, anything coming from Trump can't be trusted, although he might try to achieve some of them to cover up for a plain lie and more tainted reputation. Of course, the subsequent advice of Mr Hayes is also never bad and I even see it as harmless and not self-serving if done as advised. What does the community tend to lose if follows it?

Trump who has condemned crypto in the past in many tweets and even showed his hatred for it has now become the campaigner for it because of a crucial need, don't you know this has an undertone? I will never fall for his pretence.

Bitmex founder could be right in someway, and this whole thing just proves a point of not trusting politicians trying to meddle in every just to gain political mileage and we all know Trump isn't really invested to support crypto wholeheartedly!!!

Like they say, desperate times call for desperate measures and I think these politicians will try to get numbers wherever they think it can bring them closer to winning an election and cryptonians are one such group...just hope legislation can be passed to make it safe  for its user's as soon as possible!!

BitMex Founder Accuses Trump of Being Insincere About His Support for Crypto

Sincere or not, who cares! What's actually "good" about Trump or whoever that talks about Bitcoin is, they're starting talking-points about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a new asset class. I'm very confident that that will lead all paths towards Bitcoin because all those other cryptocurrencies are shitcoins. It will be very VERY laughable if those shitcoin holders will be HODLing them for decades.

What's important is his change of stance towards bitcoin and at least we see a politician showing a good interest for allowing this industry to circulate in their country. If he's telling a lie with that I guess its up for people to find out.

Unlike Biden which he is totally up for crypto crack down on his term. What really crazy right now is Biden is now showing some sort of support on crypto https://thehill.com/business/4766890-biden-admin-opens-line-with-crypto-industry-amid-icy-relations/ the fuck this politicians they became friendly when they need the votes of people. When they are done getting those votes then its time for them to do what they like and ignore people since their interest is more important with them.

That's why we can say that for now Trump is more better than Biden.

Something tells me that recent events are going to make Trump take crypto a little more seriously. He’s obviously started going down the rabbit hole and an assassination attempt after supporting Bitcoin will likely have him viewing it with a vengeful passion that ignited the fire for Bitcoin in so many of us.

Everybody knows that politicians will make any promises that will make the majority of their citizens to vote for them. When they win they'll do what's in their minds whether it tallies with their campaign promises or not so I wouldn't be surprised if Trump, wins and abandons his pro crypto stands for now. I've always said that Bitcoin has come this far and it's adoption is still growing despite the anti crypto stance of many world leaders, in the near future they wouldn't have any choice but to accept the obvious that cryptocurrency have come to stay. Nobody can silence the voice of the people in any democracy, it's just a matter of time and a new generation of leaders will emerge that will accept what Bitcoin stands for.
The will of the people can and will force the hand of their leaders, one of the examples of this is the prohibition of alcohol, which in the US materialized on the form of the eighteen amendment, the only amendment to be repealed from its constitution, so even if I believe the claims of Trump are nothing more but an attempt to earn some votes, at some point the support for bitcoin will become so large and intense that governments all around the world will have to pass softer regulations, even if they do not really want to.

How can he push crypto law when they are not yet sitting in the office? But I do agree that we shouldn't be careful on who are we going to elect in the US. But let me ask, who do you think will carry on and not go anti-crypto here? We've seen what Biden and his political party does, and they go on a full blown war on crypto with taxes and miners and everything. And we have seen Trump before, in the beginning he had surrounded him with supposedly pro-Bitcoin, but during his tenure, we didn't see significant laws a well. So it's really up to the voters to choose the "lesser of two evils" here and who they think will give crypto a boost, and so far Trump has somewhat gain traction and he is even invited to speak in the Bitcoin conference.
It is better to go with someone who has publicly said he is supporting crypto and not someone who is already fighting it in different ways. Trump has made it clear to everyone that he is for crypto and at this point between him and Joe, I think Trump is the way to go for the crypto community. Even if there are going to be some regulations it won't be that strict on the crypto users. We know people by their actions and so far Joe Biden actions has clearly shown that if he wins this election it is going to be more strict on the crypto space. Let the voters do their part and elect Trump first and let's see if he will go against his words. If he chooses to go against his words, it won't be more than we are already seeing in this present administration.

It is best to push for pro crypto laws that are favourable for the cryptocurrency market before elections are held, because it easy to hold politicians at the jugular for them to do your bidding as citizen before they are elected, so if there are intending laws that Donald Trump wants put or initiate for the betterment of the crypto space, then we should start seeing them.

Though this is political season in the U.S, so most persons on the political divide will see this article as an attack on their own political party, no matter how neutral the author of the article would want to sound.

Apart from the moments where he's talking about himself and how great he thinks he is, *everything* Trump says is insincere.  Even when he comes out with whatever latest extremist political rhetoric,  I don't think he genuinely believes it.  His advisers just tell him it'll play well with the dumbasses who are likely to vote for him.  All facade.  No substance.

Yes anyone living in reality understand this. Trump has spent his entire political career lying and doing every corrupt and criminal thing he can come up with to attack America and the American people, and eviscerate our democracy and constitution. He is simply the wretched result of decades of the right wing self-radicalizing themselves with extremist propaganda. The entire Trump/Republican party platform revolves around one idea now: corruption.

From the way he has talked about Bitcoin (ie. wants ALL Bitcoin mining done in the US lol *facepalm*) he obviously doesn't know the first thing about Bitcoin and decentralization and has just been told by his advisors that saying pro crypto things might get him more votes from anti-govt crypto people. He is using gullible crypto users as useful idiots to vote for him so he can attack America more and avoid prison for his heinous treasonous crimes against America from his time as president.

The MAGA cult people who also happen to be Bitcoiners are trying to tie the most incorruptible money together with the most corrupt politician in US history. It's honestly despicable. It makes you realize that some Bitcoiners don't care about Bitcoin's ability to help people, they just think if nations collapse then maybe Bitcoin will be the currency that eventually rises from the catastrophe and they'll get rich. They are choosing Bitcoin over society and humanity, rather than choosing Bitcoin to help society and humanity. They are in Bitcoin for all the wrong reasons.

Trump is the ultimate sh*tcoin president (even most of his crypto donations are from useless meme tokens). He's the most obvious political scam and rug pull in American history and the fact that some Bitcoiners can't see that he is the total antithesis of Bitcoin just shows how extreme right wingers view EVERYTHING through the propaganda of politics these days.

The crypto community is supporting Mr Trump this time because he has made some pro-crypto comments to the extent of promising to release the Silk Road founder. We'd like to see if he carries out pro-crypto policies. At least, we've seen Biden's anti-crypto stance. Trump at least has shown interest in crypto, unlike Biden.
Although we cannot trust politicians for what they say since they can change like chameleons it will be safer to vote for the one who has promised to be pro-crypto. Biden has not made any campaign promise targeted at winning the votes of the crypto community. Maybe he is been sincere, unlike Trump. But it will be a blunder to vote for a candidate based on one campaign promise. It will be better to evaluate the entire manifesto of a candidate before making him your choice. For me, I don't like both candidates because their policies destabilize global peace and prosperity.

I'm not from the US and I don't know what's going on there, and who is more trustworthy but as a crypto investor. I would support those who bring more benefits to crypto instead of those who are trying to find ways to increase taxes and crack down on crypto.
The problem is that it is difficult to know which of the candidates is sincere to keep his campaign promises. But from both leading candidates, Trump has promised better packages for the crypto community. He once promised to build a wall on the US border and he did it. But he promised to make the US great but he made the country worst.

All the US election talks are starting to become annoying specially since up until the "candidate advertisements" began, majority of people didn't even talk about legislations and after the elections are done all of them would again forget about it and go back to the same situation where the government keeps putting up more restrictions (eg. KYC nonsense, shutting down anything decentralized or privacy improving) and people just accept it!

Besides, it is useless to get them to promise anything now. Because one of them is not going to win and all the promises the loser gives are useless and the promises the winners gives is just him trying to "advertise" so they'll tell you anything you want to hear as long as they can get your vote Cheesy
Very useless indeed because whatever their  come out with will still head to the same direction of more centralised service and total control of what goes on with the citizens, I don't see any of those promises as anything positive towards a better cryptocurrency space for it users, rather, they are all showing how high their interest is in making privacy a thing of the past and constantly invading the privacy of the people with more and more regulations and KYC compliance demands.

I don't know what trump said about cryptocurrencies, if he made any promises of a good law for cryptocurrencies or if he made any statements for cryptocurrencies, in my opinion people should not believe him in this part in the same way that they should not believe Biden if he Suddenly we were talking about creating laws for cryptocurrencies because what happens is this: when you have a scenario in which you don't hear many politicians from any party talking well about cryptocurrencies, encouraging the creation of good laws for cryptocurrencies, then you have a big problem , it means that most politicians are not concerned with having good laws on crypto, on the contrary they are concerned with restricting cryptos and others first observe if it is something temporary or if it is an asset with the potential to stay for many years

Therefore, in my opinion, people from the United States do not have many options, both candidates are not pro crypto, so people should vote for the least lying candidate, they should not vote for ideologies such as the left-wing party or the right-wing party, they should vote for the candidate with better projects and fewer liars. honestly trump may be someone good in the economy, but he has tendencies towards dictatorship, he did not accept defeat in the last elections and he urged his supporters and I did not see him being in front of the supporters, in other words he used the people that day and then them discarded and this reveals a very important fact about him. In the case of Biden, he is already very old, he did not do well in the economy, but I would say that voting for Biden could be a better option

In short, you support and vote for Biden instead of Trump. That is your decision and I also believe that those who voted for Trump also have their own research and arguments. Therefore, we do not need to teach, or force others or give advice on who to vote for.

I'm not from the US and I don't know what's going on there, and who is more trustworthy but as a crypto investor. I would support those who bring more benefits to crypto instead of those who are trying to find ways to increase taxes and crack down on crypto.

It's easy for anybody to accuse Trump of being insincere in his pro-Bitcoin pronouncements. He's a politician, after all. Moreover, it's election season, a time to lie and make false promises. It also doesn't help that Trump doesn't have a sterling track record to refute all these allegations of insincerity. Words have always been so cheap with this man. Also, he was once the president and during his time as the most powerful man in the US, not only did he fail to support Bitcoin, he heavily criticized it.

Well, he'll probably have his second chance thanks to his senile opponent. We'll see how his administration implements policies reflecting his campaign remarks.

Well that is the most ideal even if it isn’t about crypto.

A good politician is one that works constantly for the people and the values he wishes to enforce onto the country not one that only works when it’s time for election and doesn’t contribute anything once election is over.

And we have seen Trump before, in the beginning he had surrounded him with supposedly pro-Bitcoin, but during his tenure, we didn't see significant laws a well. To achieve votes from citizens, they have to change temporarily to get votes first. We can benefit from it and if one party don't bring benefit to us, assume US. citizens are speaking, we can vote against them. It's force for changes and adoption in this field including considerable regulatory changes.

Biden left no one in doubt that he is anti-crypto. Check how long it took to get BTC spot ETF approval, despite intense lobbying. I believe Trump is a fairer choice than Biden if we want to see at least a crypto-neutral administration.

He cannot push the law but he should make his instance completely clear. Most of the times , politicians avoid giving straight answers because they want to take benefit of doubt and appeal to all to gather more votes. If he makes his stance clear, that he is going to support crypto with full energy on coming to power, this itself can fuel the next bull run for bitcoin.

I think Trump already did the bolded. We are even seeing this crypto as an important issue in this election because of Trump. Left to Biden, crypto would have been a non issue.

Pro-crypto laws you say? Let's start by repealing the CVC bill that Congress passed a couple months ago (I think it is abbreviated as CVC, if I'm wrong please correct me).

That would make every person and business involved in cryptocurrency bullish on future US policy. It might even help the party that gives it the most support on getting it passed win the next election.

1.There are crypto supporters, that are left wing. There are also crypto supporters, that are right wing. Some crypto supporters are anti-Trump. Some crypto supporters in the USA don't care about politics at all. Why this guy thinks that all crypto users/investors have the same mindset and they will vote for a candidate only based on his views about crypto?
2.Demanding pro-crypto laws before voting for a party? This sounds naive to me. What if the party promises pro-crypto legislation, but forgets about this promise after the elections? Nobody could guarantee that such legislation will be imposed.

There is almost always a tweet or a statement where Trump contradicts himself. It is only natural to be skeptical about his motives. If he is elected, most of the crypto legislation that is passed will be for the benefit of these large exchanges which have donated millions of dollars. It is uncertain if the average crypto user’s needs will be taken into account, that’s why Arthur Hayes is saying people shouldn’t put all their faith in Trump. If crypto is your main issue, you should support the best ideas regardless of where they are coming from and reject anything that is harmful, like extreme compliance measures that aim to take away our privacy.

Democratic Party supporters will consider what Mr. Trump says and does to be bullshit, trash and untrustworthy. On the contrary, Republican supporters will believe and praise what he says and oppose what Biden does. That's not difficult to understand, and just because Founder BitMex denounced Trump doesn't mean he's as bad or as many people criticize Biden, doesn't mean Biden is as bad as people say.

If you rely on celebrities to evaluate Mr. Trump, you should not ignore that CEO Kraken or Cathie Wood and many people in the cryptocurrency industry are supporting Mr. Trump. Hayes does not represent the entire cryptocurrency industry.

I don't agree with Mr. Hayes, but he gave some advice to the crypto community. He said that crypto voters (if there's anything like that) should ask elected officials to push for pro-crypto laws before election day.
If there are two parties compete against each other for positions of President, Vice President and in the Congress, we have reasons to wait for swings of support and anti cryptocurrency in future. Fortunately, both parties actually need votes from citizens who certainly will have more interests in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market as well as blockchain technology, companies in this field.

To achieve votes from citizens, they have to change temporarily to get votes first. We can benefit from it and if one party don't bring benefit to us, assume US. citizens are speaking, we can vote against them. It's force for changes and adoption in this field including considerable regulatory changes.

Maybe he support Biden that's why he said that?

Anyways we don't really know yet how big the support Trump shows to crypto, but at least he show sympathy to crypto users and we could just see the action made once he successfully taken the seat. People want to try him again and see what he could do since lots of people are tired with what Biden do for past years also his crypto crackdown policy that's why many people don't like him.

For now its early to tell and lets just see what he can do in this industry and for sure he would create more better judgement since lots of crypto institutions and well known personality supports him so for sure he would comply to what he promise and make US a crypto friendly country on his term.

Leave no FUD unchallenged
Apart from the moments where he's talking about himself and how great he thinks he is, *everything* Trump says is insincere.  Even when he comes out with whatever latest extremist political rhetoric,  I don't think he genuinely believes it.  His advisers just tell him it'll play well with the dumbasses who are likely to vote for him.  All facade.  No substance.
