AFAIK on Windows, you need the Zadig USB Drivers that are usually required for mining software to be able to communicate with the USB ASICs.

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/zadig/I use a combination of cgminer and BlueFury v2/BiFury ASICs with an older WinXP notebook and the XP-Version Zadig drivers...
For as long as you only install one device, it should absolutely work without any issues.
If after installation of the Zadig drivers your RedFury fails to init or somehow doesn't work, either unplugging and plugging it back in (give it a few seconds inbetween) or rebooting the system should do the trick.
Other than that, make sure your mining software has all the Pool details 100.0% correct (URL, Port, Stratum protocol etc.), as a simple Syntax error in the configuration can prevent the mining software to successfully connect to the pool. Depending on software used, also have a look at the Pool Website for any updates to these figures. Happens rarely, but sometimes the pool details are announced to haved changed.
