Bitmixer.io is already out of service.
They left a huge blank space to fill and scams popped up like mushrooms.
Users should research a bit before falling into any scam.

It seems that more and more phishing sites have appear more often nowadays and the scammers are even willing to fork out money to advertise in google ads, I guess that is one of the main reason that users overlook that the site is a phishing site since it appears in the top page of google.

Unfortunately they've shut that mixer down actually
That was quick. I respect anyone that is looking to start his own service, but with so many scam attampts, it's very difficult not to be harsh on anything that freshly pops up. The weird part that got me a bit thinking is that he some times was talking about his own service, but mentioned bitmixer.io instead. It could be him just being confused, but we don't know that.

If Chipmixer does the Chipmixer Lite thing they were talking about, perhaps they could take part of that market as well.
I suggested it in the main ChipMixer thread one or two weeks ago, that this would be a helpful addition as people like the simplicity of how Bitmixer's service was doing its job. I seriously see no reason as to why ChipMixer wouldn't end up doing this. (1) it will offer people a decent bit of more convenience. (2) probably the most important aspect for ChipMixer, they will exponentially grow their operations, and thus potential income. In other words, there are no cons to this. Bitmixer left a massive gap behind, and something needs to fill it - ChipMixer has the best position right now.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Cluster2k is considering to continue bitmixer's operation. We might see it come back in the future.
The person you are referring to has launched his own mixer, but with the .co SLD.
Unfortunately they've shut that mixer down actually, as you can see in their thread.

As the OP correctly says:
I'm in no need to scam anyone and I was just trying to offer a service with a recognisable brand like name. I'm not stealing anything to anyone.
If bitmixer.io would still be active I would have never started the project.
There's no point comparing an actual phishing site pretending to be bitmixer.io to a new mixer which uses the same system as Bitmixer.

They were just trying to appeal to people who used Bitmixer in the past by offering a similar system.  If Chipmixer does the Chipmixer Lite thing they were talking about, perhaps they could take part of that market as well.

No. Bitmixer.io was very clear when stating what his reason was to shut down all operations. Whether or not he was forced to shut down by authorities, or did it himself without anyone putting pressure on him, that doesn't matter. The person you are referring to has launched his own mixer, but with the .co SLD. This has nothing to do with Bitmixer.io. Seriously, who would trust a freshly popped up mixer trying to ride on the Bitmixer brand name? I wouldn't even mix a single satoshi there.

what is a good service to use now when this one no longer exists?

You can also try Bitblender website, official website is Bitblender.io so there is no misunderstanding like it happened with Bitmixer. This is not an isolated case, many other scammers did the same with the blockchain.info wallet, they just changed a letter and everyone who clicked the phishing link got their bitcoin vanished in no time.

Its unfortunate that unscrupulous individuals will have to exploit situations like this and that's one needs to ensure he double checks whatever site he is visiting at any point in time. I expected the administrator of bitmixer,io to have stayed longer so as to keep the thread of stopping business live for a larger coverage in other to prevent situations like this but at the same time, you are responsible for yourself and the responsibility is on you to check and check again.

So many addresses from scammers trying to impersonate this legendary service which unfortunately closed shop a few days ago. There is also fault on google allowing such sites without doing some research at first, probably google have no time to check everything who appears in their ads in first page but still they have a good part of the fault. The users should be very careful when dealing with every mixer, as  scammers have attempted to impersonate other mixers too before.

How do these scammers do this so successfully? So they replicate the real site with an almost-identical URL. But how do they get it indexed on Google's search page?
They are paying Google to show their ads, making them to be the first option when you search for Bitmixer.

People will just trust the first link they see, and believe that the website is indeed legit.

Another one BITMIXUR.IO

Just replacing E with all the 26 alphabets. Reported it to Google.

Metawin.com - Truly the best casino ever
You have to be active here to read all news or look better when open websites, bitmixer is closed and on their website you can't deposit.
If you want to use safe mixer, I can suggest you these:
Cryptomixer is very similar of bitmixer, only different template so it's easy to mix coins and they are safe.
Or you can try chipmixer, it's a little different and hard at first but very good for anonimity (they have some options of coin withdraw).
Also bitblender is very good AFAIK but I have never tried.

Pretty much sure you did not use the correct domain of bitmixer because you wouldn't even have initiated this transaction in the first place because its closed, and for your own information the real bitmixer always generated letter of guarantees as some form of proof which i doubt you have....

Damn it's really a shame that google fell for this and let their users get scammed. I hope it gets taken down from their ad service soon and I hope they report them to the authorities since I assume it must be possible to track them down through the domain name.

Thanks for that. Is it possible to report the ad to Google? If yes, how?

Yes i think you can report those blackhat method and to prevent that fake site to get more victims..
I saw this in google https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/176378?hl=en
And maybe it can help to kick the account of scammer from adwords and remove the ads in google..
This is not a good ads honestly they can scam more people if this is still in the google ads. .

It's definitely possible to report it to google. I already did so, and I highly recommend all people caring about others to not get scammed to do so as well ~ the more people report phishing sites, the sooner they get taken down.

That being said, people making use of these services also deserve a part of the blame. Seriously, how can one so easily deposit money into a service that obviously has a weird looking URL? It makes no sense.

Here is the report link ~ https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905?rd%3D2#ts%3D1115658,1115699

I just visited that bitmixor site and did a trial transaction (I didn't send anything of course) to see how they do it. Amazing. Everything is replicated detail-rich. Even the green SSL indicator is there. If people are not careful, this can generate easy money for these criminals. Especially because all they need to do is sit back and wait for naive people to take the bait. They could be out shopping or having dinner with family while bitcoins keep pouring into their wallets. The sophistication in the way they engineer these scams is insane.

Some of the people may loose their bitcoin in this Bitmixor site. To report about as lutpin says you can create a new thread about this in scam and accusation. This will allow you complain about them. Then you can lock this thread to stop this discussion more further.

How you mean this? Like an accusation on the local police station?
He is probably talking about creating a thread on the Scam Accusations board[1]. But it would only serve to warn other users since the chance of finding who is running the fake website is pretty low.

Goodbye, Z.
He actually posted here right after my last post saying that he indeed got scammed by the fake website "BITMIXOR". Looks like he deleted the post because he was also asking for donations to "help him recover his losts".
More likely, moderation deleted the post as it violates forum rules (and been reported).

Looks like OP got scammed because he have sent bitcoin to this address https://blockchain.info/address/1CeGnw648j1ySNMbRAue5ptELG7tg1XAex
Which have already got more than 1BTC before. Bimixer doesn't give you deposit address that was used before as deposit address and top of that bitmixer have already stopped accepting new deposits.

I hope, this is not possible to confirmed this op has lost his bitcoin with bitmixer team. As mentioned above he might lost bitcoin in fake site which is similar to domain bitmixer.io. I have got scammed once in blockchain.info site but I have logged in to check the balance but lost my bitcoins. Its same kind of of issue.

This can't be possible since BitMixer closed his services last week, and it's not possible to mix anymore.

You probably fall for a fake version of the site like bitmixor.io which means that your funds can not get recovered anymore. Sorry for your lost.

I have checked it, and you're right man, there's another version of bitmixer and it is bitmixor,  maybe scammers.
Since it almost 22 hours, I would like to hear about Op explanation, how could it happen? Are you sure you sent it to bitmixer? As it can't be, because there's no any service anymore as they said; We stopped our service. Please read why

It is very unfortunate that you were callous with your lost bitcoins you had and there is nothing we can do but console you.

Bitmixer had closed to operate and it was in the news all over. Perhaps you missed the golden rule of not clicking on to any link from emails or the net without double verifying the exact address you want to visit.

TryNinja is spot on ~ here too, sorry for your loss.

May we at least know what site/service you have been scammed by? It would help to report it to Google and make people aware of another phishing site.

If you visit the original bitmixer site https://bitmixer.io you'll see a clear notification of them having stopped their service. Always check your URL properly before making use of a certain service.
