How do you think it is better? No doubt that pokerstars, fulltilt and bodog have best players, because they are biggest site in the world, maybe there are many good players in betcoin, but only a few fiat pros play there, so I think bitcoin poker players are weaker than fiat players, i mean average ability.

To reiterate, I am not implying that the best players in the world choose Bitcoin, because that's obviously not the case. The idea, rather, is that while playing in stakes that the majority of users play under, the competition is much tougher on Bitcoin sites than mainstream online poker sites. Sorry if I was being vague Smiley

I'm agree with this, but there are a lot solid poker player too on bitcoin poker sites.

For example, maybe all people who comment on this thread.  Smiley

I usually play poker for fun, not for serious play.

When it comes too serious, it makes my face creepy. LOL

Obviously, on high stakes table, poker is a war zone.

I think bitcoin poker players is better than average poker players. This based on my experienced. I have a hard time winning bitcoin poker sites but It is very easy for me to win in fiat poker sites.

You are wrong. It's just variance.

Every serious player is looking for a bigger hour rate. e.g. 10-20 tabling for less ROI and bigger rakeback.
I don't know a single bitcoin poker site which could attract anything but recreational players because of the weak traffic.

Even pokerstar has hard time to get new players already and with the small market and limited to only bitcoin then you can already tell that bitcoin poker sites will have a very hard time

Exactly. And because of than and lack of traffic I cannot imagine pro players playing for food on bitcoin sites. E.g. cannot imagine bitcoin poker players to be better than regular ones.

Similar is the situation and with bitcoin bookies - they are fine only for recreational players. But margins like DirectBet's on lower divisions of 20%+ is a game killer. Or lines line 1.54-1.86....

Smoke weed everyday!
I have to disagree that Bitcoin poker players are better. There are sharks everywhere at every poker site in the fiat world, Bitcoin poker does not have the traffic to attract these players. If it had the traffic with standard of player that I face with Bitcoin I would make more playing Bitcoin players than fiat players. But like I said the traffic is tiny and you can't get consistent games started unfortunately. Maybe your friend will have different thoughts in a few few weeks/months lets see.

Historically, I have been able to consistently turn a profit on online and real life poker games. In the realm of Bitcoin, however, I struggle not to lose my bank roll. My friend, who used to play at Seals with Clubs, started playing on Carbon Poker (large online poker site) several months back. He told me he was amazed at how bad everyone was. He was able to earn pretty consistently on SWC, but he told me that even at larger stakes, winning was so much easier.

Does anyone else have claims or thoughts on the idea? I assume that the demographic of Bitcoiners may be of higher intellect than the average population, but I have no proof to back up my claim.

I don't think that can be earned with gambling (including online poker) for to much time. Whatever it will the money used or whatever it will be the player. The end of a gambler is the loss of all the money (any kind of money) he/she/ have. Even he/she have profits those are only temporary and with the continue of playing, there will be the lost not only of of all those but the lost of all the money the player have.

Where is my ring of blades...
in my opinion, poker and any game like that should be played face to face. and all the fun and the skills would come out if it is played face to face and not online.
if you find online poker easier or bitcoin players worse than any player out in the real world it is mostly because the good players are not playing with bitcoin or don't know about bitcoin and all those bitcoin players are just simple users with minimal experience in gambling and poker.
besides this is always with the assumption that there is no shenanigans going on in the website that you are playing and it is on fact fair.

I have never heard about that Bitcoin poker players should be better that fiat money players. I guess, and I am an active poker player on Bitcoin and fiat poker sites, that Bitcoin poker players are generelly weaker.

If there are fish the sharks will find them. So to answer your question there is always equilibrium, there can't be only fish and only sharks.

As I learned playing on SwC,there is an high competition being aggro every time no matter what, especially in med stakes. I'm aggro myself in poker but if there are too many of them in a table someone is gonna get hurt.

"the competition is much tougher on Bitcoin sites than mainstream online poker sites." How do u think that? I disagree with this sentence, there are thousands of players join freerolls even with less than 100 USD, should be much tougher to win fiat from freerolls there. About the ring game, fiat poker players have higher average ability than bitcoin poker players, I think everyone should admit that. Of course there are many fishes in fiat ones, so you can easily win money from them, but doesn't mean that bitcoin players are better.

Actually I think all BTC Poker players are weaker.

I cannot imagine a pro or semi-pro playing in BTC. Because of lack of traffic and absence of good rakeback deals. Novadays almost every semi-pro+ is counting rakeback as something very very important. And Prima, iPoker and so on smaller RB could > 70% with all bonuses and ranklists.
