Sounds very unprofitable for the loose transactions. This may be because of increased miner fees and charges. The company will always get the fees from you. You should pull out the use of this card.

the plastic cards are always costly to load because the vendor has to pass through many types of transactor. They will have to get money from you into your local currency and then they will convert it into the crypto currency. This is goes with exchange fees to bank as well as crypto server. The next thing would be loading your card with actual crypto coin, that means they will be sending manually the coins to your address which will get the confirmation fees. After this procedure you will be using the card to transact offline for which they will pre-pay to the block chain to cover the instant confirmation fees. This might be giving you so much trouble loading your bitpay card. Better use normal cards until the problems of mining fees gets to lower side. Otherwise loose money if your are rich enough. Tongue

Are you trying to deposit bitcoin into your bitpay account from another bitcoin wallet? If yes than may be those fee are not from bitpay, I am not using their debit card but whenever I pay in some online merchants that accept bitcoin via bitpay I haven't seen price difference of over 1-2%.

I recommend bitwala as a card provider, because they only charge 1€ for loading the card, so there is no hidden fees.
Most of the card providers on crypto charge ridicolous fees and have a bad support.
I do not have any experience of bitpay, because they do not offer such a service in finland but bitwala has a really low fees imo and a good system, and so far i only have had a problem once within 20 card loads.

$ 10 is too high a fee to load a card. You should try with other providers with the same service at a lesser fee. Now since bitpay displays the minimum fees which they charge to load the cards, they are transparent on their side, and cannot be blamed upon.

I think they add their own fee on top to move the coins you send them. As fees are going to go down as the miner spamming stops, I wonder whether they're going to reduce them too. My wallets are not following the cost falls for now.

Why is it $10 to load $5 onto my bitpay card? Fees didn't used to be this high. Now I can't use it isn't worth it
No matter how much I try to add it takes out at least 7$
