In case the transaction confirmed outside the time limit given to you by BitPay (or any other error occurred), the transaction will most likely not be counted as valid, and thus the merchant in question can only request a refund for you from within their BitPay terminal.

Just send them an email asking them to initiate a refund where you of course shouldn't forget to include a Bitcoin address that they can use to send your coins to. It should be solved in a matter of days in best scenario.

It definitely won't be coming from BitPay because they are just a payment processor and nothing else. It's like saying you bought from Amazon, you got an empty box or the wrong item and you are expecting PayPal to refund you instead of Amazon. As long as the sent the funds to the correct address, they should be able to check and give you your goods or refund you.

Hi guys,

I just bought something online and paid via bitpay.

The transaction was yesterday and as soon as I got the "tick" from the separate window on bitpay, I think I closed it before I actually got to the confirmation from the retailer themselves which may explain the error - it isn't even recorded in the transaction history.

However, when I check the blockchain ID, it went to the correct address.

Any ideas if it is even possible to get my "refund"? Would this "refund" be from the retailer or from bitpay?

I have already contacted the retailer so just waiting for an email from them.
