I find that I use chrome extensions for those quick one off things.  Add a bookmark using pinboard extension, add a todo list item, etc.  I believe having the donation amount be low and the friction to donate be low, that will encourage people to donate more often with smaller amounts.

Interesting, I like the idea of a chrome extension to tip.

Im a sandboxed newbie here so I cannot reply to the applicable thread with this discussion so I am starting my own.

I just created https://bitprops.com/ in hopes of bringing bitcoin tipping to the rest of the web.  Im looking for people to try it out and provide any feedback.

Essentially you can tip any url on the internet (regardless of their knowledge of bitcoin) using the bitprops.com website, chrome extension, or bookmarklet.

The tip "receiver" only needs to put a bitcoin meta tag on the page and their donation will be sent to that bitcoin address

This means you can effectively tip any page on the internet.  Youtube videos, tweets, news articles, github projects, etc.

Looking forward to your feedback and being apart of a new community!
