Hey guys, I forgot to post this a while ago, and thought to share it with you! For those who haven't heard, there's a new decentralised bitcoin exchange, called bitsquare. It's got a small userbase, which is great to get safe trades, and a neat interface.

I wrote this myself, please take a look!
Its good to read article but i don't think bitsquare is new platform they are operating for several months (more than year) but they lack regular updates as well as they are still in beta stage.

You have covered almost all pros and cons of bitsquare at end of the article.  Wink

It's has been here since June 2014 : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitsquareio-the-p2p-fiat-bitcoin-exchange-647457
This is awesome platform, unfortunately looks like the developer is not fast enough to make it worldwide (more popular).

I guess there are a few things they could've done better:
 - Aggressive advertising
 - More active development
 - Teaming up with other companies

I'm trying to spread the word because personally having used BitSquare, I find it safer and better than any of the exchanges we have today.

And also, thanks for taking the time to read the article! Really appreciate it.
All of the above aggressive advertising, active development require lots of seed money and what bitsquare got is only 45% of what they wanted and it ended up without reaching its goal. https://bitsquare.io/crowdfunding/

However thanks for this good article, it is in quite detail and easy to understand format.

Nice review and website, you explained it pretty well, I do not know a lot about bitsquare so since you listed pros and cons of bitsquare it is a good summary and helps me understand the gist of the website. From what I can see, bitsquare is a solid website, but not recommended for beginners.

Like your review. Bitsquare is really great concept of what exchange should look like. But it needs some event to happen (like some major exchange share customer data to government or something in that lines) in order for people to move from their exchanges. And note that most users that are looking to buy/sell btc just ones are not going to bother downloading some other software, they are just going to look for standard exchange

The concept of a decentralised exchange (or a decentealised network, for that matter) is still very new. I personally thought that OpenBazaar and BitSquare were going to be instant hots, biut it's turned out otherwise.

P2P trading is definitely safer and better but there is something else that worth mentioning is that traders always need to keep their clients open in order  to do the trade or other people to see their trade/product listing and that's a problem for most of people (I'm one of them).

I really like the review , good job ! The thing with those decentralized projects is that marketing is almost never done even If they have the proper funding for some reasons that I still don't understand , If they want to expand then they should run some signature campaign or at least post paid ads in famous websites like coinmarketcap or bitcointalk , same goes with OpenBazaar.

That was similar with etherdelta but the decentralized system wasn't being good thing get the demand from the traders. Even bitsquare and etherdelta have introduced about his advantages seems like the decentralized exchange weren't getting his popularity.
Average still feeling comfortable with centralized exchange.
