Due to heavy loads on our API we limited the amount of requests we allow per IP. The limit has been set to 1 request per second and any IP exceeding this limit by a wide margin will get temp banned.

However if you did not exceed this limit or if you did you did not send any API requests at all we would kindly ask you to please contact us at [email protected] and we will unban your IP.

I have seen that a couple of people on this forum have faced the problem of being banned by bitstamp without knowing why. In both cases it was resolved, so I am not too worried. I have pmed one of the owners of bitstamp, but I was hoping maybe someone could give me a contact for bitstamp so I can write an email too.

It worries me, because problems like this are going to slow bitcoins rate of adoption. Of course I know it is my fault for wanting to get evil fiat but it is for a friend in Africa and bitcoin has not caught on there yet...
