they are not scamming you . they will give you the money in fiat because they have detected shady activity on your account and blocked the btc.

on the top of my mind i can think of you trying to log from another ip and claiming to be hacked afterwards . this is just a example of shady activity im not saying you did it im saying bitstamp says you are shady.

get your fiat from the conversion in your account and be on your way.

So a few days ago i joined bitstamp when it came back online & loaded 1.4 BTC. I then wanted to look at their platform but found it to be shitty. I have verified my account with ID & phone number which is all fine.So i thought il just withdraw. When trying to take back my coins i got this message :

Bitcoin withdrawals are currently unavailable for your account.


So i have opened a ticket regarding this and waited 48 hours for a response.

Now i have just received this :

Account Termination Notice

After careful consideration, Bitstamp decided to terminate Your access to Your Account in accordance with our Terms of Use. Your account will be terminated from the date of this notice having been received by you. This notice shall be treated as having been served upon completion of the transmission of this email or upon the ticket having been loaded onto your online account.

The decision to terminate your Account has been reached following a close examination of your recent account activity and information which you have provided. It is our view that any continuation of our relationship would not be appropriate at this time due to internal policies.

We kindly ask you to provide us with a valid bank account held in your name in a reply to this Accout Termination Notice so Bitstamp can proceed with your Account termination and send you the currencies credited to your Account within 14 business days after your Account has been terminated.

Bitcoins will be transferred only after conversion into a currency. We kindly ask you to prepare a USD balance on your Bitstamp account so we can proceed.

Bitstamp will send to You the credit balance of Your account, however in circumstances a number of intermediaries may be involved in an international payment and these or the beneficiary bank may deduct charges. We will use reasonable efforts to ensure that such charges are disclosed to You prior to sending Your payment, however where they cannot be avoided, You acknowledge that these charges cannot always be calculated in advance, and that you agree to be responsible for such charges.

If you do not provide us with a valid bank account held in your name to which you wish your currencies to be sent, Bitstamp will send the currencies to the bank account to which you have made your last withdrawal from Bistamp.
