Bitstamp is currently down. We do not know if this is a problem with Bitstamp itself or if the site was eaten by dinosaurs, went into the future or if it had a bad hair day. he may be blog spam but bitstamp has been returning HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable. Seems to be back up but very slow.
Coinbase.com also returned a few HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable today.
I would guess some minor Ddosing going on to drive the price down.
