Ripple is one of the top coins as far as volume and has partnerships with major banks.
I'm not super familiar with the technology, unfortunately. Does this coin have real long-term potential?

I've been hoping for a price increase for a few months now.
Even it it was worth ten cents, I would have a huge return on my investment.
If the coin ever got to $1, I would be able to buy a house. A boy can dream, can't he?  Grin Tongue

till you go to https://charts.ripple.com and found out XRP is actually decreasing by the seconds and deflationary (scare+store value)

Buy the rumour sell the news, anyone buying now will buy into dump, the market has already reacted to the news with more than 20% rise in price, wait for correction before getting in.

Great comment here.
Anyone trading coins should really try to follow this principle - it turns out correct more times than not.

XRP price is inversely related to BTC, I'm personally a bull on BTC so i believe chances are XRP is due for a downtrend from here.

I'm also not a fan of XRP generally, Ripple Labs can inject a huge amount of extra supply of XRP at any time; there are banks that have entered discussions and tested the tech but not proceeded further (yes there are still banks looking at it); and a lot of time has passed with very little progress it seems with competition increasing every day in the sector. And lastly, even if the tech proves successful, that doesn't necessarily translate to the XRP tokens.

But in cryptoland, anything is possible.
Do your own research.

I don't think there was really a formal partnership with the major banks.  They used the technology for a test run and it seems that's just about it as far as where the 'partnership' went.  I mean really, if the banks were really happy with what they've seen, wouldn't Ripple be in wide use by them right now?

In exchange the people at Ripple must have given them an offer of a fixed amount of XRP.

So, no pay and no deal.  Cool

They might have given it and the deal will continue. It's a simple method for dealing with an exchange site.

It now all makes some sense. The new, fresh release of more XRP in the market is maybe a deal made with Bitstamp for them to add XRP in their exchange to be made available for trading. In exchange the people at Ripple must have given them an offer of a fixed amount of XRP.

Now I understand why the price has been pumped up, I don't really rate Ripple project that high, it is too centralised for my liking and also the inflation rate is high.

here we goo guys ....

European bitcoin exchange Bitstamp announced today that it will launch trading of XRP, the digital asset native to the Ripple blockchain. Both XRP/EUR and XRP/USD trading pairs will be available for trading on Bitstampâs exchange beginning January 17, 2017.

Ripple also announced that Bitstamp is the first partner exchange for its XRP incentive program. It offer rebates and compensation to qualifying liquidity providers in XRP pairs at partner exchanges.

The relationship with Bitstamp and launch of XRP volume incentives underscores our commitment to making XRP the institutional standard bearer for value transfer globally, notes Miguel Vias, Head of XRP Markets at Ripple. XRP is uniquely capable of introducing more liquidity to exchanges to support global payment volume, especially in exotic corridors. Rippleâs adoption with banks puts XRP in pole position to become a global settlement asset, which translates to more liquidity for Bitstamp, and more value for institutional and individual investors.

After evaluating a number of digital currencies  it soon became clear that customer demand for XRP was particularly strong,Fortunately, Ripple and XRP also happen to be a good fit for the requirements of our EU licence and so we are delighted to be able to respond to our customersâneeds in this way.

What is likely to be back again in the XRP price if the price 0.00001000 BTC will be added in the market Bitstamp ?? Huh Huh
