So, had a horrendous experience with Bitstarz. Wish I had done some simple searching before depositing but you live and learn

Deposited 2 ETH and lost. Deposited another 1 ETH and noticed (after already spinning some slots several times) that a bonus had automatically been applied

As the wagering requirement had already started, i moved on and didn't think to forfeit the bonus (although i am not sure whether i would have been able to at that point)

I intentionally rejected the bonus offers on the first deposit as i am aware of wagering requirements etc and was happy to use raw cash

Spun up a grand prize on Buffalo Grand and found my balance up around 22 ETH. Needless to say, i was pretty happy with that!

Remembered that the Bonus had been applied previously and upon checking the wagering requirements, saw that I had approximately 70% left to wager. Continued playing while working down this wager.

Got very luck on several slots and saw my balance now increase from 22ETH to around 26ETH. At this point, wagering requirement had been met.

Wanted to withdraw a portion of winnings so as not to burn my balance and, as i had signed up that day, thought i would start by testing 1 ETH withdrawal.

Immediately got flagged and asked for additional verification. I have played countless online crypto casinos and have never been asked for verification for withdrawals back to my wallet. I instantly felt nervous as i probably rightly assumed that the reason for this verification request was due to my now substantial balance.

The process that followed in each subsequent email and correspondence was :

1. Request for ID, Photo of me with ID, Proof of address

2. Proof of address was not accepted, sent internet bill

3. Internet bill was not accepted, sent cable TV bill

4. Was asked to walk to a street sign and take a photo of me next to it.

While waiting for this super unusual verification process, i continued playing and eventually got my balance to around 38ETH

So, this was over approximately a 16 hour period. Admittedly, I am getting more and more nervous at this stage as the unusual verification requests keep coming. It is at this point, i looked online and saw a history of issues with this casino paying out big balances.

After this strange back and forth for verification i finally received an email from them stating that all wins had been forfeited due to me not complying with the terms of the bonus. They then pointed me in the direction of the sentence covering this buried in their TOS.

A couple things, i did not accept the bonus in the first place and was intentionally avoiding taking part in the bonus. When i realised they had attached a 50% bonus to this deposit, i looked in the bonus section of their site where it shows only the wagered amount required, bonus amount etc but there is no mention of maximum bet requirements. In fact, upon closer inspection, the only way you would know about the ridiculous maximum bet requirement is by reading through the TOS.

I find this super shady and can only imagine how many people have been stung the same way.

Anyway, attached is the final email from them explaining that they have returned my 1ETH deposit and the rest of my balance (approx 37 eth) has been forfeited.

This is after customer service team made me jump through a multitude of hoops for verifying when they likely knew all along that they were going to screw me.

I understand TOS. I also understand shady practices.

I would advice strongly agains using this casino.

I woke to an email from BitStarz support informing me that they were able to confirm that the card I used was/were prepaid and I was paid in full following the submission of my proof of ID.

I also want to thank everyone that helped me, your replies on reddit and private messages were extremelly appreciated. I was made aware earliet today that a few users contacted BitStarz regarding my withdrawal. Thank you very much! The bitcoin community amazes me.

Nice, you should thank ndnh, he is the affiliate and helped you to talk with the support. And I am the first guy send him PM after i saw your accusation.   Cheesy   I feel happy you got paid, it is my pleasure to help people.

RHavar has left negative feedback for you on their profile: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/bitstarsnet-307265

Heh, yeah. That was a bit of a clusterfuck. The user unknowingly bet more than they were "allowed" to according to the ToS, which the site allowed and then only when they won (from different bets) and wanted to cash out BitStarz decided to confiscate the entire balance, which I think everyone agree is on the dark side of a grey area. Just because you have a gotcha in your ToS doesn't make it ok. It's still a scam imo.

That actually ended up working ok for the user, as betking.io payed them the amount of money BitStarz scammed and then BitStarz just disappeared from here (I guess they get most of their traffic from AskGamblers)

Well, that's great that the situation worked out and OP got his money back. Happy ending, the Bitcoin community is great!

One question; why did betking.io pay him? Are betking and bitstarz affiliated? (I haven't played in their sites.)

I see the OP has been paid his winnings. /thread
Why is there this much time being devoted to money that was not actually lost, or stolen, but simply not recovered.  After all, you gambled, so consider this a loss, like the many others.
Because if you win at gambling, you should be paid. Money is basically stolen here, since they refuse. If I gamble, and I win but they don't pay, should I just not bother accusing them so others can get scammed too? Go spam somewhere else please.

So why pursue it.  You are going to be one of the people that cannot accept what has happened and wastes even more time following the path that ends in "NO" yet again.

In the end there is nothing that you can do, continuing to go forward in this situation is only wasting your time.

I do not protect bitstarz but I once won 4 bitcoins from a 2$ roll, and I got paid, mike asked me for a copy of id card, and a proof of address it was a matter of minutes and I got my money.

Try again to explain him, he is usually very quick and helpful.

I had a long conv with bitstarz support. No success. Sad

THat is bad. All is well till you win and they lose. Very difficult to win that much gambling then they won't payout. They take peoples money all day long but see when they on the losing side what happens. Bring in the big guns dude. Lawyer up xP Or at least send some kind of legal notice. I don't know but this is why I don't gamble with big money. THat and hte fact I may lose it all xP

I tried again.

Well this time I got a completely different excuse that this person cannot discuss anything relating to a Bitstarz player to a third party (lawyer, courts included?) (especially when they are not able to give an answer) Sweet. Tongue
That makes up for most of what he said. I couldn't copy it, it was closed by the other guy before I could.

Adding a negative feedback. They deserve it!

If you have a deposit at Bistarz with any other means than Bitcoin, and you may not be able to provide all the documents relating to that, your withdrawals are at risk of being withheld. Don't deposit, or create a new account with VPN/proxy/Tor if you must.

Ndnh you are awesome, you immediately remove the bitstarz from your sig after I PMed you. I have given you a good trust

So they're basically saying if you created a brand new account, they would've treated you better than if you used an account with them with history?

lol well said!

Bitstarz, I don't think it is legit. It is still in gambling section. They deserve to be red trust, but people here like attacking innocent casino-betcoin.ag, they had many red trusts, but I didn't have any problem there

I consider Betcoin.ag to be shadier than Bitstarz.

Maybe, I don't trust most of casinos and sportsbook now, nitrogen is OK. I didn't find problem. I played on Betcoin for 1 year, no problem, but after i saw the scam accusation against them, I have never played there

You will be better served to use one of the available player-casino moderator sites that are available.

http://www.askgamblers.com/online-casinos/bitstars-casino-casino-review/

There you can submit your complaint and try to get some resolution and your withdrawl paid.

There are also other sites if you look. I suggest trying the above first.

However, it sounds as if from the short chat transcript you uploaded that as long as you upload copies of old credit cards you used to deposit they will pay you. Its not totally unheard of for online casinos to request this information months or a year or two later. 5btc is a big amount I would be trying my hardest to come up with that information he wants from you. Does he have a reason to suddenly suspect something? We don't know the OP could have used cards that didn't belong to him or something other. I'll give OP benefit of the doubt here for now without all the facts. If he really wants to press this issue then take it to askgamblers.com this forum will do you no good in getting this resolved.

So these are the facts:

You used a card with them, a year ago. They got the funds. They were never charged backed. And now, you have deposited with bitcoin, won bitcoin and they are denying your withdraw until you can give proof about the card you used a year ago?

So they're basically saying if you created a brand new account, they would've treated you better than if you used an account with them with history?

Exactly! And on top of that We are talking about deposits of 20$ cad and 30$ cad too, compared to hundreds of bitcoin deposits. Deposits of bitcoin were made almost daily. Last cash deposit was in Feb...

RHavar has left negative feedback for you on their profile: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/bitstarsnet-307265

However, if you are trying to withdraw your funds, you might be a bit out of luck. The bitstarz account hasn't posted since May 6th. You might be able to spread the word to avoid their shady site, but if you want your money, it unfortunately might be hard for you to do.

this isn't right place for this topic, move this topic to -> scam accusation section (there's another guy who opened accusation about bitstarz too some days ago). Second, post all of your proofs, we can't believe if you're just said "won 5 btc", but there's no any proofs if you really won that.

Thanks for the reply. I will move / have the thread moved to the scam accusation board. As for the "proof" I have uploaded two screenshots. One of my withdrawals who keep getting ignored and a chat transcript of "Mike" and I regarding this non sence.

Ouch, that's shady. Based on your side of the story, it sounds a lot like they're going out of their way to find an excuse to avoid paying out a few bitcoin to what is obviously a legitimate and loyal customer. Although based on your post history of spamming ref links, I'll take it with a grain of salt  Grin

Anyway, if what you're saying is true just try make a big of a stink in all public forums that you can, and you might also want to your story to their trust feedback:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=307265

and promise to remove it if they give you back your money. You'll almost certainly get your money, and they can save face by saying it was KYC policy or something and something, and find someone a bit less vocal to rip off.

I have been a player of BitStarz for a few years now, and as you can see on the attached screenshots below, I have been quite an active player, almost on a daily basis with hundreds and hundreds of transactions (both deposits and withdrawals) in Bitcoin.

Over the last years, i've never had any issues with their casino, until last night, I decided to withdraw 0.9 btc which was shown as processed but never credited to my wallet. After communicating with their live chat support, we realized the issue was with their payment provider and turns out I got credited less then 3 hours after..

I decided to play again this morning, and once again, was lucky and won over 5 bitcoin (3 000$ US), I've decided to withdraw part of it, and was told by live chat support Mike that verification was now needed...

I don't mind providing address, bill utility (as I already did), bank account statement, but they are asking me for credit card proofs of deposits done in over 1 year (which I threw out as they were prepaid, or with old bank accounts...) (I made about 5 deposits (2 CAD, 1 USD and 2 EURO and these were made months and years ago). I was not asked for any proofs until I won today..

I deposit using Bitcoin almost on a daily basis, and receive promotions (free spin and such) 2-3 times a week. I have attached all of my transaction history on img (BIG files, need to zoom in) as I wanted to show my account history.

http://imgur.com/a/F4nXF

Now BitStarz refuses to pay, states their ToS, when it's literally fraud. If my account was such a problem, why would they have been accepting my deposit for the last year and approved all of the minors payments I receive.

Why would verification of my credit card, used 1 year ago and more is now needed?
