Protect users from harm by disabling their accounts Huh Angry

Their reply on this issue doesn't look quite convincing and even the account with enhanced verification was disabled for review, they already have his personal documents what more they need from him this time  Roll Eyes
Its not really convincing at all for us users who do have already comply and passed those verification. For now i havent been blocked by the site hopefully it wont happen on my but theres already the doubts inside me specially seeing on other users which do have the same account level still being blocked. It is somehow unfair,we did already give those documents completely. This is why those sentences doesnt really fit on the things that they are doing now.If this situation would continue then expect for them to fall soon.If people would decide to use other exchange.

Do we know if the accounts are banned or just suspended?

Any idea of the criteria Bittrex are using to select these accounts?

I do have some coins in there that I kept for a very long time already like XEM and XRP whcih is why its something to think about whether to stick or not.

For those who got banned /suspended, were you able to unsuspend or made them lift the banned after verifying their information?

I just read the article below.  I'm wondering how many people are going to stick with Bittrex, and how many are going to start moving their coins to different exchanges?

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bittrex-exchange-breaks-silence-on-banned-accounts-questions-remain

I think, I'll be sticking with them, for now. I think I'm not affected with the banned/suspended accounts as I was able to withdraw some of coins few hours ago. Take note that all those are altcoins and I didn't try to withdraw any BTC yet. The problem that I'm seeing right now is that when the time comes that I will be moving all of my coins to another exchange, is to where/what exchange would I put it. We currently don't have much of a choice right now. Poloniex is still acting shady. Our options is very limited right now and this is the main problem that I'm currently seeing.

Yes, I read about it on Cointelegraph. It is scary. Imagine you have a couple of BTCs and then your account gets banned. I don't know what had actually happened but Bittrex guys should have informed users before banning them.
the blocking can be opened , a friend of mine has experienced the thing you mean , have bitcoin but can not withdraw , it made my friend try to contact suports , the result the core of the conversation between them that my friend must be selfie using a piece of paper and I think it's fair , so many fake accounts there are only for deposit and withdraw not to trade
bittrex is now intended to allow genuine users instead of multiple accounts

I'm not keeping a thing on there right now. For one thing, I think the statistic they gave is highly deceptive. It's similar to the stats Blockchain.info gives. I've had a handful of Bittrex accounts myself over the years -- throwaway accounts when both Bitcoin and altcoins had much less value. I'm sure Bittrex is including all of those accounts when they say hardly any of their user base was affected. I'd like to see them answer for the percentage of active users (e.g. in the last month) who are affected.

Perhaps more importantly, they haven't explained why this is occurring. These sites should have warrant canaries. Is law enforcement pressing them? Is this an anti-terrorism issue? Is it regulators instilling fear of insufficient AML/KYC? The exchange has been largely silent, and it's worrisome.

They are based in US just like coinbase so this is not a surprising news as US government want to monitor each and every account in bittrex or any exchanges which are registered with US government.

I am currently searching for some reliable exchange platform which is not registered in US and don't force users to verify their accounts.

it is all about forcing KYC on their users and force them to verify their acounts. it is not at all 0.1% it is much more than that, i dare say it is 100% of anybody who has never verified their accounts. they even removed the "legacy" account type from their database and everyone is now basic account forced to verify.

and all of that without any warning on their blog before they enforce this new change. it shows irresponsibility in my opinion. they should have warned their users that they are going to ask for verification from ALL users and they must oblige in 2 weeks for example and give enough time to everyone to withdraw.

right now my balance there is blocked because i am not willing to give them my documents that they are asking for out of nowhere.

Its not about sticking with them or not, its about whether they want you or not and their body language means they dont want you because I dont see reason why someone will just come with a policy that affects everything like that, without giving users the opportunity to decide whether they want to continue with them or not.

Firstly you don't get to withdraw your balances without verification but with the paltry 0.025btc per day, you have about 100 days to withdraw 2btc. Another is even the basic verification that allows you withdraw up to 3btc only if your data can be cross checked with public records aside that, you just have to go with the enhanced version.

All these are testimonies not to leave large portion of your fund on an exchange site because tomorrow morning they wake with a policy where you are either going to comply with or abandon your funds. For me, I am done with Bittrex.

So how many subscribers are there in Bittrex? 1 Million? If its 1 Million we are talking about 1,000 subscribers of Bittrex affected but that is if they are telling the truth because they may have scaled down the numbers to avoid panic and to show that there is no reason for subscribers to move their funds out of Bittrex and take their business else where.
