What I discovered is that people can ask whatever they want well above or below market value.  Price never got up to that but I clicked on one of the sellers who was at top of list and bought at that price without confirming price.  I wish they showed USD amount.  would make it alot easier. I made an order for about $400 worth of coins last night and had te same thing happen.  Supposed to be .50 and it bought at.60.   Luckily I was able to sell them right back at a slight loss for .58.  Bought again right after that at .50 .  So it would seem one could buy low and sell high by picking the right coins.  I am sure there are lots of people like me who assume you are getting fair market price.    Sad  Will always double check pricing now.

If you are not aware of coin market cap that ,it is not showing live prices ,so expect changes while you are using that site as a reference, you have the opportunity to finalize your purchase while trading and you could input the price you wanted to purchase the coin, the market moves according to the trends and the problem you occurred is your problem as you might have purchased the coins with the current price rather than inputing any specific value.

Sorry to ask this question, but are you aware the price is not the same depending on the exchange? Coinmarketcap displays an average but also you can see the price for each exchange Bittrex, Kraken, etc...) A difference of $1.37in 6 minutes is totally possible. After all it's just $13 in 1 hour, it's nothing impressive.

I have only been trading for a couple weeks so I am a newbie for sure.

I bought shares of KORE last night at 12:24 AM.  Coin market Cap shows price was $5.40.  On Bittrex chart for 12:30 AM it shows it was at .00157 BTC or $6.77   Huh  On top of that under my transaction history it shows I paid .00165 / $7.12 Huh  Right now even the price shows a lot lower than what I paid.
Bottom line is I should have paid $5.50 and according to this I paid $7.10.

I know Bitcoin has been going up in price some since last night but not that much
