The role: Senior Software Engineer - Shenzhen
Our team is involved in a number of areas including next-generation Bitcoin mining. You will be a key member of the Black Arrow's software engineering team. You will share our bullish vision about Bitcoin, understand and are willing to work within the tight deadlines of Bitcoin hardware development; sleep deprivation can be sometime be part of the job. Your scope is from the kernel level to the GUI. This position requires the flexibility and aptitude to zoom in to fine-grained detail, and the agility to zoom right back out and up the stack. Delve into how software performs and hardware and code interact, in designing and fixing GUI.
The most successful candidates for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding and systems design, solid communication skills and a desire to produce a flawless product that the users will love to use. We are particularly interested in software engineers experienced with either networking technologies, Unix system calls and GUI. You will have the opportunity to be part of our success, be the first to have access to our mining hardware, purchase mining equipment for self use at manufacturing costs and have decision responsibilities.
Part time / remote collaborations will also be considered, depending on experience, talent and position availability.
Responsibilities:
* Work in small, focused, agile teams of engineers to create and develop new products and solutions, or add new features to existing products.
* Opportunity to work on a the leading edge Bitcoin ASICs
* We are an engineering led company, you will help define the scope and direction of work in a bottom up environment.
* Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for ongoing projects
* You will need to work with team members that have no knowledge of Chinese language.
Requirements:
* Minimum BSc in computer science. MSc or PhD or equivalent experience would be an advantage.
* 3+ years of development experience
* Experience in development on Linux and Android
* Expert level development in C.
* Knowledge of Java is a plus.
* Proven ability to deliver complex projects independently and on time, with excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Experienced in using and configuring Linux
* Excellent operating computer knowledge. Nobody will install your operating system or debug your computer. If you are unable to install your operating system or maintain your own computer, do not apply for this job.
Additional Success Factors:
* Familiarity with overall architecture of consumer electronics
* Solid understanding of embedded hardware platforms (ARM processors, GPIO, SPI, UART, etc)
* Experience in writing device drivers consists an advantage.
* Expertise in data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis.
