I have noticed for a while how quick African Americans are to tell whites the difference between them and Africans and they do it with this feeling of pride.I heard some African Americans are chastised for acting "too black". Maybe I'm hollering.... But I'm sure there is tension between African Americans and Africans. My question is why is that?

i can't get your question  Sad can u explain?

In the history of ancient times, there were differences between African Americans and Africans.
After 100+ years, these differences have not subsided

Revoke their American passports.  Issue them 'African American' passports instead that will allow them to only travel to Africa.

See how fast they will become Americans.

All this identity politics must stop.

Black history my ass.  What is next, Native American history, Asian American history, German American history.  Total BS.

There is no such thing as African Americans, they are Americans, period.
The original author of this thread wasn't talking about the different between African Americans and white Americans. The question was about why African Americans are quick to distinguish themselves from Africans. I think that this is because their histories are so different. African American are usually though that are descendants of slaves, who were stolen from there home country. We can't erase that history. Africans, whose ancestors all grew up in Africa and never experienced slavery, can never truly understand the history of African Americans. They have a very horrible history that we can't just sweep under the rug.

I agree, Black history month is absolutely ridiculous  Why single out a single race when there are many others? all it does is seperate us more.  The wealthy want us divided so we are weaker and don't revolt.
