This user must be nice.
Sometimes I do ask if this merit is for something else. Sometimes you reply to someone a good post but still no merit given. Hope to come across your topic someday.

This is a very sensible and well-thought-out meriting policy. Thanks for making it and keeping it up to date!

BTW, you have a small time-traveling typo in your previous post.

Oops. Fixed.

Can someone take back the merit that has been given to someone? or cancel the award of merit?
Read the FAQ I sent you in the other thread;
Quote from: FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit
Can I be demerited or lose merit?

No, not currently. Even if your post is removed the merit will still stay.

sorry as a beginner. I even just found out that there is a merit source.

There's one question that keeps popping up in my head. that is :
Can someone take back the merit that has been given to someone? or cancel the award of merit?

if can not. Will there be a cancellation or recall feature of the merit that has been given in the future?

or there will be no such feature in the future. because something that has been given is not good to take back. ?

1. I don't sell merits. If you dare to ask me such thing, you'll get negative feedback.
2. Same applies for begging, but with neutral feedback.
3. I won't accept meriting posts after you've recommended them to me in PMs.
4. I won't merit anyone who I've observed he/she has made a suspicious merit transaction.
That's a responsible way to handle a responsibility. I'm really impressed at how things is done in this forum. I'm observing carefully and trying to adapt to the rules of engagement, both written and unwritten.

Someone made an interesting post in my thread.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-i-missed-out-of-a-10-year-bitcoin-investment-plan-5369496

I wanted to give him my first merit but decided to hold back. The reason is because he is a newbie and I'm also a newbie. A newbie of less than a week giving his first merit to another newbie of less than a week doesn't look good to me. So, I decided not to give, hoping someone alse would see the post and appreciate it with a merit. To my surprise, you showed up and gave him/her 2 merits. It truly shows you're meticulous with your responsibility.

That was how I found this thread through the link on your profile. I wish I could give you but you already have enough  Grin

Kudos!

I haven't seen the post, but he meant that he wasn't really active on other platforms like: Beginners, politics and society etc. compared to BITCOIN DISCUSSION
so i wanted to know and hear from you if there is a forum you really concentrate on ..rather than all

Well, these are my favorite sub-forums if that's what you want to know:

  • Bitcoin Discussion
  • Development & Technical Discussion
  • Bitcoin Technical Support
  • Meta
  • Beginners & Help

As a merit source, How is yours?Huh?

Could you please quote me the part of the message he said that? I didn't understand anything from your text, no offense. What did he mean by “following him on the Bitcoin Discussion”?

Well, These remains the proper way of being merited.
Some people just need the merit,as for me,i am still in a critical study about the website ..trying to know and study deep about this great forum .
But if i may ask on everyone's behalf ..
We have very many sites and blocks here for posting,.
A Legend here once said he is not always going around,so people that think they deserve merit should follow him specifically on BITCOIN Discussion...
I need to ask..
As a merit source, How is yours?Huh?

Anyone who's been in my blacklist and thinks he/she shouldn't, he/she ought to just PM me a justification of his/her merit transaction and I'll whitelist him/her. I'll blacklist users very rarely and for very suspicious activity.

Just asking out of curiosity, why a newbie who bring constructive discussion don't deserve to get that 1 merit

Because, newbies earn 3-4 merits if they bring constructive discussions. Not just 1. I don't eliminate them, you just haven't read my policy properly.
Oh my bad, Yes I didn't read it properly Lips sealed

Newbies get special treatment that is what they deserved to be.  SmileySmiley

Just asking out of curiosity, why a newbie who bring constructive discussion don't deserve to get that 1 merit, it kay be your own policy which I am not denying that but wanted to know is there any particular reason why you eliminated newbies in your first policy itself because newbies are the one who need more merits than anyone. I recently became a merit source and I feel that I kinda have a responsibility to this forum now; to distribute merits objectively and make high-quality writers differ from spammers. That's why I chose to write a list of the way I distinguish a merit-deserving post, the amount of merits it deserves plus some policy rules. .
Nice thread  hope you give your Smerit to someone who deserve to be given but I need some clarification about this thread how can you assure that one of your list is a spammer??

Anyway congratulations  you bacame a merit source

Merit distribution.

1-2 merits
  • If your reply deserves a “like” or if I agree with it.
  • If you reply to someone properly and shortly.
  • If I want to thank you.

3-5 merits
  • If you ask something that will bring constructive discussion.
  • If I learn something from you that I didn't know before.
  • If you correct someone (including me) in a post that has made a technical mistake.
  • If you reply constructively and smartly.

6+ merits
  • If you create a useful thread for a certain subject.
  • If there's an excellent writeup.
  • If your post really assisted me.

Policy rules.

1. I don't sell merits. If you dare to ask me such thing, you'll get negative feedback.
2. Same applies for begging, but with neutral feedback.
3. I won't accept meriting posts after you've recommended them to me in PMs.
