We are back and running after an unlucky server related issue popped up just after the announcement, bad coincidence. We apologise for any inconvenience happened during that 2 days, while the BdB was unreachable.

BdB is an ongoing project, we wanted to announce it to start collecting feedback as soon as possible and shape the final product parallel to user needs. So thank you for all the feedback, they are all noted, especially the ones related to whale alerts.

I like it. It's simpler to use than Blockchain.info's explorer, for the kinds of things that I'd want to check anyway. I think it would be good if you clarified what exchange you take your price from, and added labeling so that addresses of exchanges, donation addresses for well-known NGOs, etc can be identified. I also echo what o_e_l_e_o says about the whale alert idea, it's a bad idea that is pretty much just something that serves no purpose other than further destabilizing the market.

It sounds interesting, I'll bookmark this thread to come back to it when it is up and running to check it out. If it gets popular, you are going to have to deal with a lot more traffic than the 20 or so users who have clicked on this thread would generate though.

My only concern from your initial post is this feature:

Notification system that follows big whale wallets for large transactions that might affect overall market (Captain Ahab Alarm)
The "Whale Alert" account on twitter which essentially does what you are describing here is panic-inducing nonsense. 99% of the trades it reports are exchanges (or other services such as web wallets or casinos) either moving from hot wallets to cold wallets, cold wallets to hot wallets, or sometimes cold wallets to new cold wallets. The small number of trades that are actually from individuals are almost always them also moving funds between wallets. The very rare times that one of these alerts is an individual making a trade, it is always OTC. Despite all this, every time they put out a tweet, there are users on here, on reddit, on twitter, who panic that the market is about to "crash". During Coinbase's upgrading of their cold storage last year, despite announcing it beforehand, making blog and twitter posts updating people to how it was going, and the addresses involved all being clearly linked to Coinbase, "Whale Alert" still managed to panic a bunch of newbies in to selling their weak hands.

If you are going to implement a feature like this, could you at the very least use the list of exchange addresses from walletexplorer.com or similar so you can ignore movements which clearly will have no effect on the market?

  • Notification system that follows big whale wallets for large transactions that might affect overall market (Captain Ahab Alarm)
  • Charts and historical changes of difficulty, hashrate etc.
  • TOP 100 lists for some interesting facts such as the highest balance, highest volume, highest fee paid wallet etc
It seems that the site collects some of the features that can be found if you do a detailed search, for example, there is a Twitter account that gives notifications in the event of a whale making large transactions.
https://bitinfocharts.com: Gives lots of charts and analyzes.

I just tried to access the website and it's on maintenance. You guys might want to stabilize the website first before creating an announcement.
Same here. I even searched in Google for that site and did not find any ratings only that have a link to that site or paid advertising.
