Can someone point me to a U.S reseller of blades? Yes, know they are out of stock, and it's too late to order to get ROI.

But still, who is the US reseller please?

Thanks

SilentSonicBoom is also a US reseller.

I am pretty sure that everyone everywhere realizes that ROI is a unicorn and has been a unicorn for months. No asic anywhere from anyone including unicorns that are only promised to be born will ever make a positive ROI in nominal btc terms. Those days are long gone.

I am not sure why every five minutes someone feels the need to be noticed for pointing out that device "X" will never achieve positive ROI. Duh, and the sky is blue. It is certainly not an argument that matters for the tens of thousands buying asics all over the world. Unless you assume that anyone who buys an asic is an idiot, in which case, congratulations on being so much smarter than everyone else. I hope being that smart translates into btc for you.

We all agree that asics can achieve a positive ROI in fiat terms assuming that the value of btc increases over time, and that in most cases you are better off just buying and holding btc. Most miners however are quite happy with the fiat ROI and are not as concerned with the btc ROI. They have chosen not to buy and hold. I respect that decision.

Fiat ROI is not only possible, it is likely. These people are not idiots, they just choose a different path for their own reasons.

Tossing out a brick to get a jade gem[edit source | editbeta]
(拋磚引玉/抛砖引玉, Pāo zhuān yǐn yù)
Bait someone by making him believe he gains something or just make him react to it ("toss out a brick") and obtain something valuable from him in return ("get a jade gem").

Create something from nothing[edit source | editbeta]
(無中生有/无中生有, Wú zhōng shēng yǒu)
A plain lie. Make somebody believe there was something when there is in fact nothing. One method of using this strategy is to create an illusion of something's existence, while it does not exist. Another method is to create an illusion that something does not exist, while it does.

Take the opportunity to pilfer a goat[edit source | editbeta]
(順手牽羊/顺手牵羊, Shùn shǒu qiān yáng)
While carrying out your plans be flexible enough to take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself, however small, and avail yourself of any profit, however slight.

It may seem like a good deal, however you're unlikely to get one in the next few days.

So, change delivery date to September and you will see these will never ROI as well. http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/b686d6f969

there is no confusion about asicminer's pricing strategy, freidcat is a very smart guy.  It's just a race against time, whoever has the hardware and can dump the fastest wins.  Freidcat made a business decision to make less money and clear inventory to ensure he doesnt have a warehouse of paper weights down the road. Basically asicminer is the first out the door as the rush for exit starts.

down the road? these sold out in HOURS, not days / weeks. You think a 10% or 20% price increase would've made much difference to that time frame? I'd say not at all.

yes it would.

anyone a bit confused about asicminers pricing strategy lately? all stock seems to be flying out the door faster than it can be made, because the prices are just too low for the demand (no ROI?...waaaaaaaaaa, people still buy them..)

the only part i am confused about is asicminer announcing all those sales to resellers than literally a week later oversteps them after resellers made the purchases. Unless the reseller price was very good (<3.5 btc) this is kind of a douche move.

Guys you can hardly buy any asics now that are guaranteed to ROI. the 85% of BFL orders that havent been shipped are now officially screwed. people who paid $275 for 5gh jalapeno still in queue can now buy a 10GHs blade for $420 - essentially $210 per 5gh jalapeno. And the blade doesnt require a computer to hash with, ships in a couple days, not a couple months.

At least people getting into these are buying it at today's price at today's diff. They're not saying they'll sell it super cheap and deliver it whenever.

Even some of these guys promising December and Jan delivery for ridiculous hash rates for $10-20k you really don't know if THEY will ROI or even if they'll deliver it in Dec or Jan, or if it will be June or July until you really get it. Avalon as proved that even reliable, proven vendors can choke.

At least these have a small chance in ROI if these 28mm chips are stalled a couple months, or if BTC price keeps rising. And hardware is never worth zero resale. Look at BFL FPGA's still selling for $200-300 on ebay (which is quite silly considering you can get a couple USB erupters for less)

Given how fast and far prices of ASICM hardware have fallen in the past month, the obvious move is to simply wait and not buy anything until things stabilize.

I don't want to be the one to try to catch a falling knife!

This is a sad day for the people who supported ASICMINER initially. I was part of the B3 auction who paid 50BTC / blade.
They never ROI'ed.

Even with the new price of 3.5Btc per blade for returning customers, these blades don't seem to ROI.

The lowered price for returning customers is just an option as a favor. Of course we won't treat initial purchasers like this. The compensation/reward we talked about before would be different and more attractive.

selling for 3.5 btc, probably cost <$100 to make one, so freidcat's true profit margin on those are finally clear and more importantly you guys should now realize where the bottom is. Once those cards are worth only 1btc (assuming 1 btc is still ~$130), that's when the difficulty will stop going up 35% every 2016 blocks.

This is actually a very good deal from ASICMiner, I am impressed.  Even at today's difficulty and insane growth these look to be at positive RoI in just 52 days.  Even if you use 150% monthly difficulty increases (65-164-411-etc) it hits RoI in under 70 days, and at 200% it's still in 90 days.  This is actually a product I'd buy if I had the money to get 20.

I am doing something wrong here it seems. I don't see any ROI for 10Gh at 4 BTC:

http://www.btcinvest.net/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=65750060.149085&dcosts=15000&diff_mincrease=40&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=392000&diff_mincreasedecrease=5&btcusd=100&dpowcon=0&btcusd_mincrease=5&pcost=0.345&calcweeks=52&dleadtime=2&action=calc#

With 10Gh/s, 100w, 4 BTC, and as low as +30% per difficulty step (minus 5% each time!).
Even with these, as I believe too conservative (=too positive) numbers, I accumulated 3.4 BTC in 2015.

Dogie, not going to budge on your hosting/group buying idea for these things?  I would imagine you would get a lot of support of people taking you up on that offer and I am sure that you could set your own hosting price at a pretty high percent...

Financially it doesn't work because the resellers are clearing their stock at 5BTC, and once clear will get the new stock and probably retail at 3.5 again. The distribution network makes it pointless for anyone else to attempt to challenge this.

I'll set up a group buy/hosting now.

Nevermind. I was planning to host a huge quantity of these again but forgot just how 'old' this hardware is now. Overclocked its nearly 10W per GH, compared to even avalons which are 10W/GH but much higher density, easier powering and cooling. Very hard to direct the heat from blades.

Then we look at the new Bitfury generation, less than 1W per GH...

yes power is a factor.

These new blades are available to be shipped world wide from https://2asic.com.

We have also compensated customers who have purchased blades for the decrease in price!

All - make sure to report posts like this to the mods... bottom right of the message "Report to Moderator"...

Seriously wtf?? Get a life/job/friend.
I'm not sure. Maybe the problem is US$868.97
4BTC is not worth that much, but that's what you're asking for the blade, but that is no reason to report the post.

Just ignore him and enjoy these products  Smiley

Nah - he keeps spamming his fucking site in multiple threads whenever he can.. I'm not reporting this thread.. just his fucking spam posts..

These prices seem pretty good. Too good to be true....

Freidcat, I am suspicious, is this "Operation Offload" before my hardware becomes completely obsolete?

What about Gen 2? Any news on that?

Edit: Super suspicious timing.... Right after Bitfury begins shipping their miners.

Competition is a great motivator.

How much for new clients? Or is this only for past auction winners?

This is actually a very good deal from ASICMiner, I am impressed.  Even at today's difficulty and insane growth these look to be at positive RoI in just 52 days.  Even if you use 150% monthly difficulty increases (65-164-411-etc) it hits RoI in under 70 days, and at 200% it's still in 90 days.  This is actually a product I'd buy if I had the money to get 20.
