Recently blockchain games got a huge hype and some of the projects have made some good progress. Samsung has invested in Axie Infinity; so, it's not anymore a fun I guess. What's your opinion? Do you think it’s good to have a better look on some blockchain based gaming projects?
I guess I have posted it in the wrong section but altcoin discussion doesn’t fit as well I guess; hence, posted here.
IMO I think the people who make lots of profit the most in such situations are the early adopters right before the hype. Once the hype is on, FOMO comes in, and before you know it prices are spiraling southwards. For example look at the Meme coin situation. Someone who bought Shi inu worth $1 last year in August before the Dogecoin hype is now $200K rich.

So, much as you are going to spend it to check out blockchain based games, make sure you do it with caution and also expect the worst just in case.

Yes, it's always interesting to keep yourself updated on the most recent projects being launched in blockchain games industry. But personally I don't like the idea of investing in something which isn't finished yet, like many projects currently ask. I prefer to see the final product (or a decent part of it done) and if that is an addicting, professional and solid work I wouldn't mind putting some money on it.

You just need to be careful that not every blockchain games are actually games. Some are just browser static pages which present an investment concept with some 2D models to illustrate that works exactly like a ponzi scheme.

If you have an amount that is willing to risk, why not.  Because IMO, Axie infinity was the first blockchain game that has attracted people not only to have fun and also by getting profit via farming and the concept was a perfect idea that could easily spread and be adopted during this pandemic due to people relying upon online seeking for something have fun and also will earn while playing, in general, this was in perfect timing and that's why it gets hyped.

And those investors are not invested just because of having fun, they're invested because they saw a potential that the price could go up more sooner or later because it has a real concept as real play to earn game that is easy to adopt and play.

As we can see, there are also many play-to-earn games projects that are based on blockchain games just like what Axie did.  It might be one of them has potential but we should have research first and IMO, yes they had potential that could be worth it to try.

I don't know about WoW, but AFAIK Runescape developer sometimes ban player who buy/sell the gold.

Yep! Despite not being allowed in-game, RuneScape is still farmed to death regardless. Because it can be a great source of income in 3rd world countries(farmers being mostly Venezuelans) despite the risks of bans. It's technically not lawfully illegal anyway; just not allowed in-game.

Axie Infinity was pretty successful because it was the first one that boomed. As for blockchain-based games in general though, I think projects need to focus on the actual game first, rather than overdoing it on the tokenomics side. The reason why the likes of RuneScape and WoW were sustainable despite being farmed to death, is because there was a decent balance of true game enthusiasts and game farmers. Now with blockchain games, if your main selling point is that you can play to learn(with the game sucking big time), people are likely to just farm the tokens to death, then quit once it's unprofitable to continue playing.
