Faketoshi can't stay silent for promoting his worthless ideas around the world. Blockchain-based internet will be great to see for the young generation but it is not possible for the next 10 years in my opinion.

Agree. It's something that's not viable now. While Blockchain technology holds the promise of changing our world for the better, it's not an All-in-One solution to all our problems. Combining this technology with the Internet is a terrible idea, since Blockchain is not highly scalable. Internet content would take massive amounts of space that will render the underlying Blockchain network relatively useless.

Not to mention, the decentralization of the Blockchain would be put at risk. The Blockchain-based Internet would only work properly in a centralized manner where large data centers store all the content (transactions) of the Blockchain. As for Craig, he doesn't seem to have much credibility these days. This guy only makes lots of promises, without delivering real results.

Hence, the idea of a Blockchain-based Internet for BSV (via Bottle browser) may not experience mainstream adoption because of said reasons. But who knows? In a decade from now, there might be the possibility where everything is based on the Blockchain for security, transparency, and reliability of content. Just my thoughts Grin

Indeed a blockchain internet can be a good option and maybe a lot of people will use it, i wish that somehow on future to be internet service and sim which can be paid with crypto and maybe in that way more people will use internet.

Sounds like a good plan. If they conduct a survey it’ll show that majority of people would be for anonymous internet. Our smartphones spy on us so let’s remain safe in the net at least.

Actually, i would love to see something like that.

But, when i see background of bitcoin sv, i don't expect them doing anything serious.

Me neither. Bitcoin SV's latest developments are worthless if it doesn't gain massive mainstream adoption in our world. Not to mention, it has a controversial figure known as Craig Wright which makes matters worse for the cryptocurrency. As for making a Blockchain-based Internet, the Bitcoin SV project seems to have a basis on it. The Bottle Web Browser explores content on the Bitcoin SV blockchain as intended.

But I believe that this will lead to centralization, since the Blockchain is not designed to be used for everything after all. Imagine storing every content on the Blockchain without limits. It would bloat the underlying cryptocurrency's network, until it becomes unfeasible for anyone to support them. In this case, only wealthy people will be able to support the Blockchain, while the rest are left out of the system.

Which means, that while a Blockchain-based Internet looks like a good idea, it's not feasible since it would put decentralization to an end. Therefore, I believe that other alternative networks like ZeroNet, i2p, Tor, and Freenet, would simply do the trick than relying 100% on Blockchain technology. Just my opinion Smiley

this would be great if it really did exist and would create a type of blockchain-based internet, and this would advance the development of the internet world.
There are already a lot of projects that want to make a new Internet. Recently there was a project ATHERO - internet 3.0, but judging by all the facts, this project turned out to be a scam.

I'm hopeful that projects like Shift and Filecoin will finally come to fruition and bring us a first layer which is decentralized storage/hosting.
That said to truly have a decentralized internet we would need to have some kind of global open mesh network and in this case it's not really a question of software but hardware and as such: much harder to solve.

A couple of months ago, Bitcoin SV has announced a new kind of Blockchain-based internet called the MetaNet. Faketoshi believes that this new kind of Internet will change the world as content becomes "decentralized" throughout the use of the Blockchain. Knowing how Blockchain technology is greatly limited in scalability, I fail to see how this can be viable after all.

Despite this, there has been development going on for the Blockchain-based Internet, being the latest a Bitcoin SV browser named "Bottle". Allegedly the HTTP protocol is replaced by B:// and content is provided right from the Blockchain. However, I believe that this would fail in the long run simply because of the many limitations such technology has.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts related to a Blockchain-based Internet? Will it be feasible? Or is it just hype? Cheesy

It depends on how superior than today's internet. I mean, if it is useful for the future, maybe all of us will support.
Also, will the statement of CZbinance about BTCSV affect it? I wonder how SV will progress in the present situation.

I think is a welcome development if this Blockchain based Internet ecosystem concept is achievable, however this kind of project can only succeed if the right technological features are applied, because i know there is nothing impossible with humans in this generation

Decentralized Internet without any restrictions? How to understand the Internet on the blockchain? If there are no restrictions and prohibitions, it will be a good ground for terrorism, pornography and other nasty things. I'd be against the idea.

Blockchain base internet what a wonderful development I will really love to see how this will work because there can not be blockchain without the internet and now a team is coming out to say they can created and host an internet on the blockchain is this going to operate within the existing internet or a new development entirely?

I am sure that one day there will definitely be a project with this concept especially the internet blockchain is not currently done and indeed this is a brilliant idea for us in the future.

It might be possible right now because of the limitations as you already mentioned but it could be done in the next decade or two. Technology continues to evolve and it is an exciting idea so some devs might continue working on this until it's done.

the idea was great, Decentralized internet is neccessary so the information is not controlled by any single entity. But, the executiona and implementation in the real world will be very hard. The persuasion for people to be willing to move from the traditional interner, not just to people but also for company and and any service provider related to internet. Not to mention The resources needed to fulfill the demand.

Honestly, this is the first time I read something like this, it will take a lot to realize this because of what you have said about the limitation, people are so used using https: protocol but I'd love to see this happens because it supports the blockchain technology.

No doubt we require a new neutral internet and blockchain based internet is the future. But we should make sure it supports cross-blockchain and be able to acquire data from current centrally controlled internet but be independent of it on both resources and hardwares.
