Bitcoin is both a digital currency and, in many ways, a digital commodity similar to many others. Like any other market in the world, bitcoin is subject to supply and demand on the market in which it trades: The more people want it, the more expensive it becomes; less people want it, the cheaper it becomes. No one person or company determines bitcoin's value nor can we trade it in one place only; each market/exchange determines its price based on their set of rules. If you want to know the current price of bitcoin, you have to look at an average of all the exchanges where it's being traded. If a BTC is sold for $17,000 on one exchange and $16,500 on another, then the current price of bitcoin is likely somewhere in between those numbers. Price trackers like preev and others rely on this method to generate their information.

I am confused about how BTC price comes from blockchain?
So you have been on this forum ever since 2017 and have made 1338 posts and you think bitcoin price comes from blockchain? May I ask what have you been doing all this time and what have you been reading on this forum?

Most importantly if you don't even understand the price and the market how do you claim that 2023 is going to be bearish?!!

I know the economics, demand and supply determines the price. But here how technically price comes from?
Your post is still unclear.
Price of bitcoin (like everything else) is determined based on supply and demand. It all happens in the market and the market consists of mostly of centralized exchanges, half a dozen of them are the main ones with more smaller exchanges and also altcoin exchanges that list bitcoin/fiat markets. There is also decentralized P2P markets (DEX, OTC trades, etc.) that don't have the same direct effects on the price but they indirectly affect the supply and demand equilibrium.

Be more specific on what you mean; because supply and demand is what determines the prices, nothing technical protocol-wise, and Bitcointalk isn't an exchange so a price can't come from Bitcointalk.

It's a bit ironic that you claim to have knowledge about blockchain and how it works and attributed Bitcoin's price to it. How is Bitcoin's price in US dollar even related to blockchain?

Anyway, the price is simply what people would pay to get Bitcoin. That's just it. It is not as complicated as it may seem. It's simply the demand that drives the price. The price per coin is not really an integral part of Bitcoin's fundamental technical design. Although, indirectly, because of its fixed supply the price is expected to be rising as Bitcoin grows in adoption.

Technically, the current price of bitcoin comes from the exchange. The price at any given moment comes from what market participants are willing to pay for a unit of the cryptocurrency.

The price of bitcoin is based on the trading pairs that are available on the exchanges. These trading pairs include BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, and other fiat currencies. The price of bitcoin also depends on the exchange rate of these currencies in relation to each other.

Technically, anything that has a price comes from the supply and demand and the value on how it's generated. As for bitcoin, aside from the supply and demand, there goes about the mining cost.

Like if we're in a bull run, many are wanting to buy bitcoin so there's a high demand from it that lowers the supply in the circulation during that time and results the price to go up, and so on.

do you own a car or a current house, and how did that get its value now?  Bitcoin is also like that, the current bitcoin price is created because of people's trust in the market, when trading occurs on DEX, CEX or P2P, the flow of money going in and out will automatically create prices.

Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency, which means that the price and even circulation cannot be controlled and manipulated by anyone, even me, you or the government, everything happens purely on supply and demand.

@OP if there's no demand on Bitcoin, I'm pretty sure Bitcoin will become worthless since no one will want to mine it and hold it. Bitcoin doesn't pegged or backed up with any asset, so there's no such where the price come.

You are right. He works on bitcoin forum since 2017 but doesn't know about this. There are many people like him who have come to this forum since long but could not gain knowledge. Because they only come to the forum to earn. I have seen many people who earn money only by doing bounties on forums.
Work on this forum? you or him? Cheesy He didn't even wear clickable signature, you did lol. I think it's more appropriate to say you're the one who come to this forum to earn since you're joining the signature campaign and want to become a campaign manager. As I can see he never participate any campaign since 2021 and post without getting any payment.

OP was doing bounty campaigns on social media and buying shitcoins.
Even managed to get some bitcoin along the way but sold it right away.
OP is a typical nocoiner who came here to make some $$$

i have done lot bounties 100+. but only paid 50 or low. but some bounties gave me equal to 2500$. so thats a big deal to me so i always motivated to do bounties.

i would say for beginners , Do not give up. always try bounties. at least do the twitter or FB bounty

In one post he claimed to have made over 10k from shilling shitcoins. Can't quote cause the thread is locked.

OP was also recommending people to buy XRP in June 2019 because "it's #3 coin and the future of banking" Cheesy If you did that you'd be at a 50% loss for the last 3 years, despite the 2021 crypto bull run.

That's it mate, supply and demand, so obviously when there is a huge demand, then price shoots after the halving because the supply is dwindling pushing the price to an all time high.

And when the demand is low, like in the bearish sentiments that we are right now, the price is somewhat depreciates.

The price comes from all the trades that is going on in an exchange and averages across.

I'm not sure what you mean by "technically" as you have stated that the price is determined by supply and demand.

Maybe you are asking about how prices are reported. The reported price is simply the price of the most recent trade on an exchange, or an average of most recent trades across different exchanges or over time. The precise source of a reported price depends on who is reporting it.

What did you mean about the technical price? if you think Bitcoin has such initial price or fair price from mining, it's not entirely correct because different place, different mining rigs, different electricity price will cost you different price. Don't forget every time Bitcoin has been successfully mined, the difficulty will increase and it will affect with the calculation.

Bitcoin price is really determine from the demand, how much anyone willing to buy Bitcoin? someone can buy Bitcoin with discount or premium price.

Blockchain performs bitcoin transactions under the consensus protocols and confirms them, store and secure them, this data is open and everyone connected can have access through their own device but cannot alter them, bitcoin price is determined by the rate of the statistics data recieved from the supply and demand and we got this also on the blockchain when you extract the data from every mined block reward by miners and the level of potential bitcoin holders with daily performing transactions, so blockchain is not the direct indication for bitcoin price but can give relevant information required to obtain a statistics for that.

Speculation to answer your simple question. People is speculating that Bitcoin price will be pump due to its technology. This speculation gives value to the Bitcoin, the higher the expectations equals to the valuation of Bitcoin. This is same with other assets like gold, silver and real estates. People is the one defining the value lf the things based on its usability, availability and cost to generate or mine it.

But If you are asking the specific people who’s buying then you are asking an impossible things to be answered here.
