Am I EVIL? Yes I am
Thank you for posting those resources, murderouskirk.

I have an interesting situation... I won a contest where Tillkoeln will create a coin for me (hooray!)

So, I don't need help (for now) with coding a new coin. I am looking for advice on how properly to launch the coin on bitcointalk.

I have opened a PRE-ANN thread, but it would be nice to have a checklist of things to have ready before launch. I know miners expect a countdown, code has to be on Github, etc. but not sure if I am missing something. For example, I read about checkpoint servers, but is that different than any server with IP address running the wallet?

If you have any links for this kind of education, as in how to launch, I very much like to see it. Good luck with your Swing coin and other coins!

it could give the spark to one person to create one really good, brilliant idea that could change everything in crypto.

imagine that

the future is assets vs. coin networks is what is past
but that said the initial distro can still be done the old fashion way of launching a new BC

Nah man, it's good.  Among the scams people could create, it could give the spark to one person to create one really good, brilliant idea that could change everything in crypto.

I've wondered if I did the right thing posting those articles on my blog.

Let's just say the survival record for altcoins ain't good, and at this point I'd say the majority of altcoin devs have been accused of running a scam.  Further, I'd say the majority of the accusations have been correct.

But what the heck.  I thought it was interesting, so I put it up, unix command lines and all, to make it easy.  I probably enabled some scammers.  But you know what?  Providing resources that others can use for good or evil, is not the same thing as doing evil.
