Using 0.10 it's as fast as BitTorrent, so there's no need to use a bootstrap.

I have SSD and 1Gbit line and it took me 5 hours to download it... not sure why so slow.

check your ssd performance, could be degradate, or maybe it's to filled with programs, if you fall under certain amount of giga(space) it will start to run slow

Isnt there a lighter version for this to create nodes?

Because the blockchain is over 30 gigs now.

Not to create a full node.

There are plenty of other wallets that don't need to download the entire block chain, but don't create a full node.

Oke, thanks for info.

It could be a day if not more.  It is a big download at this point.  I would start it and check it tomorrow.

Definitely more than a day (more like three or four) for me but that's because our internet speeds are a joke here. And not cheap either.

Thank you for your responses, how much does bootstrap.dat reduce the time?

With 0.10.0 you should not use the bootstrap.  It will more than likely be slower to use the bootstrap than the vanilla 0.10.0

I tried it on 0.10.0 beta 2 (I think 2 back at the end of 2014/early 2015) and it was quite fast (in comparison to pre 0.10.0) on a server that was pretty well connected with an SSD.

Core wallet can take some time to download the entire blockchain initially. This is really dependent on bandwidth and the hardware you are running your wallet on, so a consistent average is difficult to predict.

with my 10.10 QT my whole syncing got up to 20 hours. before it as even 3 days. If you go with torrent then it depends on the share rate of the seeders and the incoming limit your connection has.

Hello guys, do you know how long does it take to download the btc blockchain from scratch on average without using bootstrap.dat?
Cheers
