Yeah it's unusable. My tx was for $175 worth of btc when i sent it 3 days ago, the value now is $125, and still 0 confirmations.
The cause of these insane fees and delays is irrelevant. if it can happen, it must be treated as unreliable always.

I actually agree if you want to relay to the people that Bitcoin is only for the rich. That is so true especially at this moment because it has become so expensive. How can a poor person afford Bitcoin when it is valued at around $17,000? If they will buy a very small amount then it would almost be useless. But may I remind you that the value of Bitcoin is the result of the high demand from a lot of people all over the world. So I guess it is not dead at all.

Bitcoin is certainly not for small payment transactions as the transaction fee and network fee would deem it impractical but it is still the best for investment, at least backed with historical proofs. And it is the best time to buy them during the a significant correction like this time.

This happened due to overload. Many people's did transactions at one time that stuck system . You must do transactions from reliable source, still it having high transactions fees.

I can see that you paid a fee of BTC0.000436 @ 51.5 Sat/Byte. Right now the minimum fee required for instant confirmation is close to 1,100 Sat/Byte. You paid 1/20th of that amount. So I would suggest you to increase your fee to BTC0.0093 (i.e $140).

But I can see that the total amount is just BTC0.007. If you don't want to pay this much fee, then please convert your BTC to some other crypto (BCH/ETH) and make the transfer.

Yes, bitcoin has been dead for a very long time now. It was dead at $100, 300, 1000, etc. The only thing predictable and constant in the crypto world is FUD. We can rely on that always! And don't forget that while it is dead, it is also in a bubble like the tulips. Gotta have those in the mix too. We might get back to pyramid schemes and magic internet money eventually but for now we will have to live with death and bubbles.

It is really a pain in the ass on how high the tx fee of Bitcoin is. We have no choice but to follow the standard txfee or else.. our transaction won't be confirmed. Honestly why the hell is the transaction fee so high now. It hurts especially to the beginners. This kind of thing only block new comers into the bitcoin community. Way back month ago, we are able to transfer Bitcoin with just tens of thousand satoshi, now we need to pay 100k plus satoshi, isn't it ironic? Transactions and transaction fee should be more efficient but it seems, it is more efficient to use bitcoin way back months ago.

Actually the original White Paper Satoshi stated it was intended for small transactions for minor purchases, then TPTB behind the core usurped BTC and now it is what it is and that is why the fork happened and BCH is back on tract to the original white paper, small transactions with virtually NO FEES.

You're not happy with that, USE segwit!!!!

The same happened to me, i sent over $4500 worth of bitcoins a few days ago with a fee of $15 (it was normal on that time)
And it never got confirmed, it is showing on Blockcyper and all the other block explorers but it is not on blockchain.

It's bad advice to just up the transaction though as currently the network is over charging for transactions because of all the people who are sending transactions I would wait unless you need to send it urgently for the new year to send any bitcoin

As a newbie I suggest that you do research into how Bitcoin works instead of paying a low block fee and then bemoaning the fact it isn't being processed in the next block. You also will have to take into consideration that when there are more people trying to transfer Bitcoin the network will be overloaded for the miners and consequently higher fees.
