An important event happened March 18 this year for the whole crypto community. In The 2018 Joint Economic Report presented by the US Congress on March 13 gave a clear and precise evaluation, of what the Blockchain and cryptocurrency are, as well as their possible application for the greater good. Blockchain has evolved from an outlawed child of libertarian ideology to the tool, from which humanity can benefit.

At first, Bitcoin, as an original blockchain network and cryptocurrency was perceived as a dangerous threat to the transparency of monetary transactions as it was associated with infamous Silk Road dark web portal and illicit trade. Bitcoin was ostracized and many countries and organizations have called for the prohibition of its usage. Some of the countries, namely Algeria, Bolivia, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Macedonia, and Brazil, actually did outlaw cryptocurrency usage and payments.

But now, a US Congress in an annual economic report, brings back to this beautiful and powerful technology its good name, acknowledging the potential of Blockchain. I would highly recommend reading Report pages 201 to 227, which is a section dedicated to Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, as not only it is a great read, but it can be offered as an introductory guide to anyone curious. The language and clarity with which the report is written are above all compliments.

I congratulate the whole cryptocommunity with a small, but a very important event in the history of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. We are now entering the new paradigm and I believe, we will see mass media shining much more positive light on the industry.
