well i am just checking a bit... and there is a easy improvement possible.. compressing block by block it is possible to decrease the size by the +-64%

could this be done to bitcoin too?

surely this is where some smart design (like p2pool was) for a local wallet could connect to public blockchain to be running on a p2p network?

just a thought... now THAT would really put feathercoin on the map

very interesting, so like electurm, but as a sort of torrent/cloud affair where you just get what you need....

Of course, not a solution.

A shared storage by p2p sounds more like the solution, or remote servers offering just this service.

When you can use an ewallet you do not even have to care about downloading the block chain Smiley
So the coin is gona be under the control of 3-4 banks called ewallet

I'm pointing out that to save people having to host their own "bloated" Bitcoin, Litecoin or Feathercoin wallet they can use an ewallet and exchanges to hold coins.

This is not an issue for Feathercoin, it is an issue for all blockchain coins. Think about installing the Bitcoin client and waiting a day for the block chain to download. The entire community needs to work on this problem and will be solutions.

There is not a problem here. The block chain will always continue to grow. Even after all the block rewards have gone miners will keep mining for the transactions.

Litecoin is exactly the same with faster blocks as it is not a problem. When you can use an ewallet you do not even have to care about downloading the block chain Smiley

Why not ask the development team?

Oh wait.... There isn't one.  Cheesy

Wait Satoshi doesn't work on Feathercoin too in his spare time? Sad

as the title says

my understanding is the speed multiplier effect has a downside = hugggge block chain

how will this be overcome?
