For all those worried about how blockchain tech can be detrimental to the environment, here’s your answer. They can in fact, work well together. According to a story published on the Aspen Daily News, “The disruption that blockchain technology has unleashed, is being applied to the energy sector and the environment will be the primary benefactor, according to the moderator of a forum during the 15th annual American Renewable Energy Day Summit that opens today in Snowmass Village.” The theme this year combines new technologies with the save-the-environment movement, with the objective of “removing government and the middle man from the economic equation.”

They are proposing to use blockchain-based solutions to help accelerate a sustainable energy future. This technology intends to use a platform with protocols that will verify energy production data and CO2 emissions in real time.

This goes to show how blockchain applications can be used in a variety of fields. And it can be pro-environment too.
