when you say that we can earn by giving away a weather station for free, how do you see the profit?

With reference to this, the weather stations will be "mining" data to be stored locally and accessible globally. Utilizing cryptocurrency technologies, each station would be a stand alone transaction centre able to negotiate, purchase and sell data with any other station or client.  As the weather/hydrological/geological dataset collected by each station grows, so does its value and thus potential profits. An immediate commercial use that would consume this data is the Agricultural Insurance industry which often claims inability to insure crops due to insufficient weather data.

Is this an investment or a donation/charity? Because you might be in the wrong section then.

Nope, this is not a request for donations. This is a request to Partner and Invest in the development of said Blockchained Weather Station.

It is my view (hopinion), weather data is best collected over large zones, by as many collection points as possible. The easiest way to ensure mass adoption is to offer the hardware for free or utilising a staggered pricing approach. In order to  incentivise usage the system could have small amount of tokens distributed along with the hardware, while also "mining" more of the token, which would be made available to the owner.

Hi,

While we may not see eye to eye on the reasons behind Climate Change, we all agree that the climate changes. With that in mind, it is important that "we the people" have access to climate data in order to best protect what is ours. It has been a long term dream to develop something like this  Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station that collects, secures and stores all its data locally, is able to collect data from similar stations nearby, while also providing an interface for anyone to collect its data. The key will be that you would have to pay the machine in order to consume its data, which would also mean that the machine would also pay for data it consumes from other nearby machines. Bitcoin allows for such an arrangement.

If you believe this is worth a shot, I would like to work with you to develop such a machine, get it manufactured and given out for free to all and every person that would want to have access to non-politicised weather data. Yes, we can make money giving away the weather station for free.

Kebwesi.
