Thanks. That is the problem I am getting. When I import the private key(from old version of pywallet) I get a different public key. Oh well.
I am pretty sure there is not.

Actually there is no such thing as a compressed private key. Only the public key is compressed. A "compressed private key" merely contains a flag that specifies that the conversion to public key should be done compressed. You can remove the flag... But will not get the same address in the end.

Ok, I get that, but is there a way to convert a compessed private key to an uncompressed one?
