I seem to remember the old mnemonics being 17bcharacters. You'll probanly have to keep going with their tech support here until you get put through to a human.
I doubt the owners are still on this forum since the forum is fairly anti blockchain (since they store your keys)...
Some mentioned that they have 12 words, others said 18, so the old b.info mnemonics must be a random amount of words between 12-18.

For the support, I distinctly remember that blockchain(.com)'s representative had replied to a recent thread because people keep replying that they are custodial.
Unfortunately, I can't find that particular post (perhaps, deleted?)

@koch44 I'll inform you if I found that post & username.

Is anyone from blockchain.com contactable here? Their technical support is mostly replying with bots.

As far as I can tell there is no official blockchain.com/info channel here on the forum.

You can however ask either here or on the Wallet software board, but you'd have to provide more information about what you really want.

Good day.

I have a wallet from blockchain.info which is version 2. The wallet is decrypted.

I have a technical question regarding the xpriv.

Blockchain uses two different xpriv in there wallet backups, one after the 2016 upgrade to v3 and one xpriv from the old wallet.

Is it possible to generate addresses from the v2 xpriv? Or how was that done?

Any source?

Also, does anyone know if blockchain.info used 12 words pre 2016 upgrade?

thank you

koch

You can use a java tool on Github for this.

This tool did not read the wallet correctly...

AFAIK it had a non-BIP39 mnemonic phrase which is a backup of your login details, not a seed mnemonic.

Technically, it's possible. But I have no "v2 blockchain.info wallet" to test this.

You can experiment using iancoleman's BIP39 tool (link) but instead of pasting a BIP39 seed,
paste the xprv to "BIP39 Root Key", select "BIP32" Tab and select "blockchain.info" in the 'Client' drop-down menu.

For your safety, launch BIP39 tool offline from source.
