piuk, I also have an issue with the Blockchain app on an iPhone.

It seems to be the same as this user:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/blochain-for-iphone-160155

After installing the app it worked fine. Then we sent bitcoins to it and now the app is completely frozen, since a couple of weeks, no matter what we tried.

Is there a fix for this and if not, how can we get the coins back?

So I've run into this problem myself.

I tried the fix you suggested:
  • Created a new address
  • Deleted all old addresses
  • Re-added each of the old private keys
Unfortunately when I try to send again it tells me the same thing: Number of addresses must be between 1 and 200.

I also noticed this problem after scanning a QR code from the blockchain.info site. I was viewing an address with a /address/1whatever URL and scanned the QR code.
The address was successfully entered into the "To" box.

Unfortunately, each attempt to send funds to this address failed with the 1-200 error.

Not sure what to try next since OP solved his problem with the delete/readd of keys.
Delete/readd didn't work for me.

Quick update:

Via the website, I did the following steps:

  • generated a new temporary address (had to do this in order to delete all the current ones; you need at least 1 active address)
  • deleted all of the old addresses and their private keys
  • re-added the old addresses (1 as watch-only)

...and now I've got full functionality again. Just tested by transferring 0.01BTC from an active address to a watch-only address.

Not sure what caused this issue in the first place - maybe the phone upgrade? But it seems that these steps will solve the issue for anyone else who comes across it.

Piuk, thumbs up for creating such a kick-ass app. This is the sort of thing that'll really help bring bitcoin to the masses!

I'll also occasionally get a different error message that reads "Number of addresses must be between 1 and 200". This is when trying to send bitcoins to a QR scanned into the app via its blockchain.info page.

Nope. I've got two wallets, both of which were added by importing private keys. I'm able to send and receive with both addresses via the website.

Have you added a "Watch Only" address to the wallet?

Hey folks,

I just installed the Blockchain.info app to my new iPhone, after having great success using it on my old phone.

However, I now keep getting the cryptic error message "Cannot ask for private key without user interaction disabled". Any ideas?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.2.
