Reddit theorizes that by adding that address to your Bitcoin-QT wallet, it could one day be used as a change address for another of your transactions, resulting in the loss of any funds changed to it. Beware accordingly.
I think not, bitcoin-qt takes first unused address from keypool for change, imported keys should be marked as used.

Yeah, waiting to claim the 0.33 BTC unconfirmed in that address Smiley

Those unconfirmed tx seem to block that.

Along with probably hundreds of other people. So why do it?

Simply go to blockchain.info and look at the list of recent transactions.
What is with the repeated transactions? 19 out of 20 transactions are in the amount of 0.0000025 BTC.
Wtf does this mean?
Can someone enlighten a noob.

I saw this too. It was going on for a long time and must be some kind of spamming attack.
Fortunately improvements are coming in v0.8.2 to reduce the problem of nano-trash transactions to a minimum.

it means that 19 transactions were sent with value of 0.0000025 BTC.

 Grin
I did not specify;
95% of transactions over at blockchain.info are of a particular value. Now 11 minutes since I first decided to post, and probably 45 minutes of pondering this pattern, it is still on going.
Is this an example of "spamming the network"?
Is there a particular site/entity that is using this particular amount of btc to accomplish something?
Besides repeating what I said, 19 of 20 transactions coming thru at blockchain.info are in the amount of 0.0000025 BTC, can you possibly enlighten me as to the cause of this pattern of transactions??
Thanks again for the illumination.
