Blockchain.info is my first wallet and I've never had any problem with that ever. I even didn't see any SMS verification function on it and on the basic security level everything is working fine in my case.

I did not use SMS verification, in addition, I stopped using Blockchain.info by importing my wallet into Exodus. It is much easier to use.

did you face ever too that when you received btc/sent btc to your Wallet then you don't receive any sms on your registered mobile number?

because i faced such types of Situation. When i was trying to log in in my blockchain account they don't sent otp for long time then i click resend resend again and again but didn't get my otp yet on my number....finally lot of attempt my account got banned.
there were 1.6btc in my account. then i reset my two-factor- authentication.finally i got my account back.
so never activate sms otp verification on blockchain.info

thanks!!

the problem is with your mobile service provider. they are receiving the SMS late from the source.

i have not yet encountered this problem but i have heard someone had this problem and contacted their support, they changed from where the SMS was coming (changed the sender) and the problem was fixed easily for him.
you should do the same.

With Xapo, the 2 FA works better but I have often seen issues with Blockchain with regards to their 2 FA. Many users have complained about not receiving the OTP and hence losing access to their account. The support also doesn't respond in time. You should change your wallet to Xapo or Coinbase as Blockchain has too many issues.

Yeah. I've had this. I also get crappy phone signal where I am. I switched to 2FA on email. That email also has 2FA with a phone. I was always scared of something going weird with blockchain.info so I switched out.

...

I tried using Two Factor Authentication on a couple of blockchain.info wallets a year or two ago.  I could never get the the SMS version to work right either, I had to work with blockchain to remove the 2FA.

Nor was I able to get Google Authenticator to play well with blockchain.info.  So, I don't use either 2FA service with them, but since my balances there are very small, no matter.

Perhaps blockchain.info has updated their software to make 2FA work better.  But, I will not experiment with that any further.

Hardware wallets Ledger Nano and Trezor are where I put my larger BTC balances.

Im never use sms verification at Blockchain.info, if you afraid with your security, i prefered you to use coinbase.
Im use coinbase the sms verification is fast, also you can use calling to verification, but you can't import or export your wallet, it's 3rd party wallet.

I wouldn't recommend doing this , OP.
If you want to fix your issue then contact the support but don't switch to anything else (at least not web wallets) because the others like Coinbase don't give you access to your private keys which could get you screwed in case something wrong happens in Coinbase side .

Well I don't use any web wallets but I have seen this happen to many people and this is just one of many disadvantage of using a web wallet.

Start using other wallets like Electrum and you will never face any such problems.
