What is taint?
The taint is the percentage of funds received by an address that can be traced back to another address. An example of a taint analysis is: https://blockchain.info/taint/1dice6GV5Rz2iaifPvX7RMjfhaNPC8SXH

I think it's to do with hiding stolen coins.
Sending them through a large wallet not related to your own then claiming them back through another wallet.
That way the amount you receive back will be the same, but the coins will likely have a different history.

Wow so is using blockchain illegal? or is it a tool to find thieves.
